CMMG puts out some of the lightest-recoiling pistol carbines and turning heads at the range! AR pistol has that cool factor over your standard handguns which makes it intriguing to collectors and gun enthusiasts.
CMMG offers numerous line of AR pistols and short-barreled rifles chambered in 9mm, .45 ACP, 300 BLK, FN 5.7x28mm and .22 Long Rifle. Boy does it look fun to play with.
CMMG utilized their patent-pending Radial Delayed Blowback operating system to most of their line, even on the brand new Mk57 Guard line which is fed by 5.7x28mm pistol magazines. These models are available in the 5-inch-barreled, as well as 8-inch-barreled PSB configurations.
With the radial delayed blowback system embedded in most of CMMG models, this makes it one of the lightest-recoiling pistol-caliber carbines on the market, CMMG CEO Chris Reinkemeyer said. The Radial Delayed Blowback minimizes the recoil. With each round fired, a portion of the rearward force of the shot is exhausted in unlocking a rotating bolt in the system prior to driving the carrier forward and cycling the action.
In layman terms, with less force going towards your shoulder, CMMG is able to use a lighter carrier and buffer than standard blowback designs. Also, means a softer shooting rifle. Check out the rest of CMMG 9mm.

I can hear the commie Lib outrage now: “We can’t allow any of these into the hands of the “unwashed masses”. What IF they revolt?”
I never understood why AR platforms in pistol calibers universally use blowback instead of direct impingement.
With a .22LR, I understand, but with 9mm and up there is plenty of gas on tap to run an action, given a large enough gas port in the barrel, and using a pistol length gas system on a 16” barrel.
ARs in pistol calibers have a reputation of breaking trigger groups because of the high bolt velocities slamming the hammer into the disconnector much harder than in 5.56. Using a DI action on a pistol caliber AR would eliminate that.
What am I missing?
There.
Fixed.

Perhaps that the CMMG system uses both concepts?
I can think of no reason to use the large and complex AR platform for 9mm ammo.
The Astra 600 and 400 worked perfectly in 9mm Luger and 9mm Largo with a straight blow back action. So do a large number of sub machine guns.

What Caliber is a Grammar ?
I want one!! Too bad my sports car build is taking priority.
I’d love to see something in 40 cal.
