Democrats are rallying to turn the “Green New Deal” into a centerpiece of their Capitol Hill agenda and the party’s 2020 platform — as soon as they decide what exactly it is.
The term has become a potent brand name for a slate of ideas for transforming the economy and fighting climate change, championed by progressives like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and embraced, at least cautiously, by potential presidential nominees including Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Beto O’Rourke.
But not all Democrats have signed onto the full agenda that Ocasio-Cortez and her activist allies have rolled into their Green New Deal platforms — which encompasses proposals such as a complete switch to clean energy by 2030, big tax increases on the wealthy, retrofits of every building in the U.S. and a federal guarantee of a well-paying job to everyone who wants one. And some leading Democrats on the Hill already are criticizing some of those planks as unrealistically ambitious and politically polarizing.

The Democrats are running hard to the left. The Bolsheviks look like centrists compared to the 2020 Democrat crowd.
Green New Deal is just the new name for good ol’ fashioned “Progressivism” now that more people have figured out that “Progressivism” is just Socialism-Communism wearing an oxford button down shirt instead of the usual wife-beater T-shirt
sort of like changing “Global Warming” to “Climate Change”
“Green” sounds better than Socialism and Communism, at least until the great unwashed masses catch on to what “green” really means ...
It’s a three-part plan:
1) Tax and extort.
2) Spend on useless projects and line their pockets.
3) Repeat.
Who is the most enthusiastic climate-change leader in the world?
French President Emmanuel Macron.
And where is Mr. Macron today?
Hiding under a desk in Paris, contemplating his 20-percent approval rating while trying to forestall an eight-week rebellion caused by his decision to impose an exorbitant climate-change gasoline tax on the poor people of France.
The second most enthusiastic climate-change political figure in the world is fast becoming Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who is too powerless at present to do any damage except to embarrass herself, Hispanic-Americans in general, the Democratic party, Boston University, and New York City.
In fact, the more foolish and ignorant she appears day after day, the more she calls into question the authenticity of climate change as a fact instead of Climate Change as an over-hyped fantasy promoted by liberals to attract foolish and ignorant people like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to their cause.
A: “RED”.
As in communist.
“New Deal” put America down for the ten count and the “Green Deal” will be a knockout punch.
Dems are stupid and science/fact illiterate. They whine about “fossil” fuels but want more electric cars.
Where do they think electricity comes from? Mostly by burning “fossil” fuels.
