A clinical trial called “Ambrosia” seeks to discover the long-sought Fountain of Youth – and some scientists believe they’ve found it in the blood of young people.
Unlike most clinical trials, people actually paid to participate instead of the other way around. Patients over the age of 35 ponied up $8000 to take part in the experiment where they get transfusions of young blood, run by Dr. Jesse Karmazin. People are getting transfusions of “young blood” to slow aging.
Unsurprisingly, the business “experiment” is taking place in Monterrey, California, right on the edge of Silicon Valley.

Ambrosia has some competition on the East Coast. A society gala in West Palm Beach, Florida took place last year to scare a bunch of 60-somethings into dropping some cash to take part an another “experiment” run by Dr. Dipnarine Maharaj. And by some cash, I mean up to $285,000 apiece.

This is true, the Jehovah’s Witnesses do not believe in the use of blood transfusions. They also do not believe that Jesus Christ is God.

I looked at both threads, and I didn’t see in this one or the other something that crossed my mind as I was reading the article.
Disappearances of young people...are runaways or abducted young people being used to supply the blood? I can just imagine an unscrupulous doctor using kids held against their will to supply some rich (and also unscrupulous) patient with blood.
Even if the possibility of criminal activity isn’t involved, this creeps me out to no end. Mankind, as he is want to do, is stepping into the realm of things he shouldn’t.

WOW. I’m in. If it keeps me from feeling like I’ve been rode hard for 70 years, I want in. So what if a few healthy 20 year old (triple checked for diseases) sell a pint of their blood for a goodly sum…it’s win win.…if it’s real.

Here on FR a couple weeks ago I read that older folks can get youthful benefits by donating their own blood. According to what I read, losing blood triggers the body to replenish new blood, which is healthier, fresher, etc.
Hm. Well, if one reads the article closely, it becomes apparent that the practice requires much more than one pint. . .
If this were for real, why not just transplant some marrow from young to old, and have “young blood” continuously?
I guess that way there wouldn’t be a market for all that fetal blood from abortions...

Yes, I have read this in the past, as well. I have not pursued this, and so have no comment upon it. It occurs to me that it would be a good idea to revisit the research, particularly while commenting upon the subject of blood.
