31,000 protesters estimated by the government this week, just over 80,000 by the Yellow Vests.
In Paris the authorities gave 5000 as the number of protesters. The police stopped and checked people 9473 times in Paris according to their figures. They made 27 arrests.
In among the protesters the leader of the Left political party in France, Jean-Luc Melenchon of "France Insubordinate". Melenchon tweeted he was there to defend "public freedoms" and the "right to protest".
In the north at Lille more than 1000 Yellow Vests, prohibited from demonstrating in the city center. Video link......Police used tear gas on them in the end.

In Strasbourg, one of the places that the European Parliament meets, some 650 Yellow Vests with signs like "Macron Dismissal" and "Frexit+RIC" referring to leaving the European Union and to the "Citizen Initiative Referendum".
Tear gas and water cannon used in Toulouse, which was designated as the "capital" of the Yellow Vests for the 22nd week of protests. The protest there infiltrated by the "black blocs" of anarchists. Video Link......

Are the gendarmes understating? Unlikely as no government agent would ever lie to the people.
So they have no reason to object to a drone based survey, right?
And then there are the lamestreams here in the US of A giving us the same-ol’ same-ol’ treatment of this, Turkey (Erdogan not leaving), India’s elections, etc.

The French Government and their Media pals are playing a statistical game with the attendance numbers.
If you look carefully, the govt’s “official” numbers show a decrease of a few thousand every week since Christmas, which is when Macron basically declared war on the YV’s. Yet the protests seem to be holding steady if not growing, as the protesters themselves claim.
It’s pretty obvious what’s going on here - French Gov’t is trying to make it look like the protest movement is dying. And French Media is doing everything it can to help spread the meme.
The protests aren’t fading, because the underlying conditions that created them - high taxes, arrogant elitist politicians, idiotic immigration policies, etc. - haven’t changed.
Yes, the warmer weather will make things interesting.
