Imagine the Hawaiian economy if the only way to get there was by a weeks long voyage on a windjammer. Ditto for those Caribbean islands. St. Greta’s Swedish utopia would also miss those American tourist dollars when the only way to get there would be by a rough crossing of the north Atlantic in a sailing ship or better still by Viking longship with the passengers rowing part of the way.
