MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Thousands of Minnesotans could be kicked off food stamps under new Trump administration rules.
State officials have until next week to file objections to the plan which will take food stamps away from almost two million low-income families nationwide.
The new rules would disqualify tens of thousands of Minnesota families who earn more than $27,000 a year.
The Trump administration says it could save $2.5 billion a year by ending food stamps in Minnesota for families earning up to $34,000 a year, requiring families be on welfare for at least six months — and testing their income and assets.

My mom was on food stamps in the 70s after pop had a heart attack and she was going to nursing school.
She would use them as LATE as possible because she was so embarrassed using them that she cried.
It wasn’t long. She became a nurse and made enough to provide for us.
I started as the lone breadwinner teaching in public school.
28K a year.
Never took food stamps.
Fixed that!

With all of the jobs available there should be very little need for food stamps except possibly among “refugee” populations without skills needed in America. Oh wait, isn’t that why POTUS wants to change immigration policy to allow those with skills that can contribute to the country in versus those who are unskilled and wind up on food stamps?

Pop’s 2nd heart attack and already had a stroke so he wasn’t working again.
She could have moved us into the projects and watched TV all day.

Hopefully, most, if not all, of that 35k live in the Minneapolis area and in the district of a certain, 1st term Congresswoman. Maybe we’ll be lucky enough to force them and their birthright citizenship, demon spawn to move back to Somalia. I’ll chip in for plane tickets.
That was my first thought.
My father was left with me at 6 and my sister 9 when my mother was killed. He was a student in pre-med at USC at the time.
He quit school and got a job as a VA nurse to keep us going. (Corpsman in WWII) No food stamps to help in the mid 50’s of course.
Same thoughts here, as well.
