FARRELL Rebecca Myers is ready to bring another champion to the city of Farrell.
She and her team might not be able to compete with the citys 22 state titles, by her own admission, but the FarmaceuticalRX founder and chief executive officer said the citys new medical marijuana growing, processing and research facility will provide the city with economic development and job creation for years to come.
Its amazing to be a part of this proud community, she said in front of a group of state and local officials, FRX employees and citizens at a ribbon-cutting ceremony across the street from the business campus Friday.
Since FRX chose the Farrell location, Myers and her team have raised more than $18 million in capital and converted two former industrial buildings at 680 and 660 Martin Luther King Blvd. the home of the old PPV Plate Processing and before that Sharon Steel Corp. into a state-of-the-art research and grow facility. The campus, which also serves as FRXs corporate headquarters, sits on a total of six acres.

I wish the people of Farrell good luck with this new industry.
When you have been in a hole a long time and someone throws you a rope you dont ask who is on the other end.
The marijuana industry is and will continue to grow in leaps and bounds...until, the federal government steps in and starts enforcing federal marijuana laws. I believe Jeff Sessions would have done it, but I have a hunch he was discouraged from doing so.
I see this as a 10th amendment issue. States rights. I don’t know how many states have approved state laws to legalize medical and/or recreational cannabis. A few months ago, my state, Michigan, approved recreational marijuana. Medical marijuana has been legal for several years now. The infrastructure for procurement for medical has grown quite a bit. In fact, I would say medical dispensaries outnumber bars by about 5 to one within a 3 mile radius of where I live. It’s hard to tell for sure because so many have closed already.
Rules and regs and infrastructure for rec use ought to be in place sometime in the first half of 2020. There are many entrepreneurs gearing up to make money in this industry.
I’ve done a fair amount of research on cannabis, because I have problems eating. I even went so far as to find a doctor who will certify me for medical use. I’ve made two appointments, and cancelled both times. Meanwhile, I’ve lost 40 lb in the last 6 months because of chronic nausea and lack of appetite.
But from what I’ve read, I’m impressed with how the industry has developed standards for making sure the weed is not contaminated (distributors need to send their products to labs for testing which not only ensure the safety of the product, but their THC and CBD content as well).
I have a friend who is a med user who uses edibles. He said 25 mg of THC is the best dose for...I don’t know...eating, I guess. He is current being treated for pancreatic cancer.
Anyway I, for one, am glad to see this new industry being developed and look forward to seeing it grow. Whether or not I partake....I don’t know yet. I can’t seem to pull the trigger. Not even sure why I’m resisting...
There’s not many reasons NOT to give it a try, beyond the stigma some folks might place on it. That and of course, the intoxication would limit some activities like driving. It might help you, but I hope you find the source of your illness too.
I had a friend recently pass from PC, and THC helped with his appetite and nausea. I hope your friend is one of the lucky few who survive.
Thanks for the kind words.
I was a pothead for about 3 years in the 1970’s so I’m familiar with it. I’ve had it a few times since, but haven’t had any in about 25 years.
I understand cannabis has evolved considerably since. Reading a lot about how much more potent it is, but that doesn’t scare me. I’m guessing it’s like comparing beer with liquor. With liquor, you don’t drink as much. Doesn’t sound complicated.
I don’t drive much these days so I’m not concerned about that. My biggest concern is if I get med certification it will be only temporary. I can already possess it legally without ceritifaction. Getting it is the problem, and I’m not thrilled about getting on a med cert list that would put me in violation of federal laws.
I’m still trying to find out the source of my problem. Doctors here have essentially given up and referred me to the University of Michigan for more tests. I have a consultation scheduled there in a couple weeks.
My friend seems to be holding up pretty well, all things considered. My understanding is that not many survive pancreatic cancer. But he hasn’t given up.
I know that marijuana can help some cancer patients but the vast majority of users are recreational. Long term use of marijuana is dangerous in my opinion. I think it is a contributing cause of many forms of psychosis. I decided to stop smoking pot almost 40 years ago because I realized it was detrimental to my thought process. And apparently the potency of the marijuana nowadays is way stronger than decades ago. Let’s put it this way, there are better and more positive business ventures. The acceptance of marijuana as a good thing is another crack in the moral armour of society.
I can save them from wasting time and money on R&D.
Go clean out some chicken pens, mix that with a few horse stall scrapings and some decent dirt. Get some big fat seeds and get them sprouted, transplant to mixed goodies. Water every day and once a week mix up some Fish Emulsion per directions on label and feed the Babies.
As soon as they get big enough Sex them and cull the Males. Let the Females grow till the Buds are nice and pretty, smell awesome and get the little Pink and Light Green Hairs and the plants are 6+ then pull up roots and all. Hang upside down till dry- about 2-3 weeks.
Enjoy in small pinches in a glass pipe. Dont forget NO DRIVING OR HEAVY MACHINERY OPERATION. Lock the Pantry and Refrigerator.
Dont forget to cull those Male Plants !
Trump has done more to facilitate legal mj than any President since FDR and the Progressives outlawed it. Listen to the crowd of Deplorables when candidate Trump says legalization should be left up to the states =>
Is President Trump facilitating a crack in the moral armour of society?
Alcohol is every bit as addictive and deadly as heroine. Let's ban that as well. OH WAIT!!
“I know that marijuana can help some cancer patients but the vast majority of users are recreational.”
#Bullshite you don’t speak for the vast majority of cannabis users on any level. This is a Nancy Pelosi level fallacy.
I’m not speaking for marijuana users. I was stating my own opinion. I’m well aware of the dangers of alcohol as well. If you want to smoke marijuana that’s fine. But I’ve noticed that some people that use it become angry.
The acceptance of marijuana as a good thing is another crack in the moral armour of society.

Ethanol?! Wait til they get around to demonizing CAFFEINE
The marijuana industry is hyping the positive aspects when with everything else there are downsides. Everything in moderation. I’m only saying that abuse of any libation has consequences. Can I get a witness?
They don’t call “Mountain Dew”,Mormon coffee for nothing.
Angry? That's a new one. Heard the same old unfounded arguments here.."May cause psychosis!" Not one scintilla of real research says that. I don't use cannabis at all, not my thing. I micro-dose psilocybin and ayahausca. Psychedelics have helped me with depression beyond what pharmaceuticals could ever do, without the side effects and toxicity. They have been around for 1000's of years and humans have consumed mind altering substances forever. The drug war has been an abject failure and prohibition got us in the spot were are in now. Drug abuse is a health crisis not a criminal justice one. If someone wants to vape weed or take THC gummies, who am I to tell them what they can ingest.
Been using it everyday since Jan 2015.
Every aspect of my life has and continues to improve. Zero downside experienced.
