I was just doing a search and it wasnt clear to me that FISA hasn’t already sunset. Does anyone know the current status? I see several dates regarding renewal, but I cant find anything that says it was extended beyond Dec of last year.
Nobody here ever thought it was valuable.
Exactly the opposite.
FISA courts were started in the 1970s, but they really were given their power, combined with centralized intelligence collection, with the Patriot Act.
So, all it took was ONE President from the start of the Patriot Act (Obama), and his corrupt fellow-travelers, to abuse the immense power they were given, and prove a grave harm against the Constitution.
The same programs keep getting extended under different bills with different names.
But the Deep State will never surrender the surveillance apparatus. It will not be dismantled or rendered useless.
And, it will always be used for purposes those in power think it should be used for, without regard for the law.
As long as it exists it will be an enemy of the American people.
Lawyers.
Most are good.
Some are less than good.
Then there are lawyer politicians.
Below that there are Dorkbama lawyers.
And at the very bottom - yup, FISA.
Traitor Roberts’ fault.
Impeach him now.
The FISA judges, petitioners and process have all proven themselves untrustworthy, and therefore of zero value.
Lawyers.
Argue often against logic and reason, for success and money.
Many have psychological issues, and high alcoholism, divorce and suicide rates.
Most politicians and most all judges are...lawyers.
Our feet-thick laws and regs are a lawyers playground, written by lawyers.
Lawyers are often immune, and hardly ever sue another lawyer.
Lawyers are mostly Democrats.
What?? Was James Comey not available?
Proof again that humans, at their core, are scoundrels and thieves and cannot be trust with absolute power.
https://www.wired.com/story/fisa-section-702-renewal-congress/, dated 1/11/18
The spying initiatives Snowden brought to light are authorized under Section 702 of the 2008 FISA Amendments Act, which was set to expire later this month. On Thursday, Congress voted down an effort to reform Section 702, and instead passed a bill that expanded warrantless surveillance of US citizens and foreigners. The newly passed bill reauthorizes Section 702 for six years, long after President Trumps first term in office will have expired.
This part at least was renewed for six years in Jan 2018.
Agreed! Then take everybody connected to that “court” into custody for some enhanced interrogations.

Amash tried to stop FISA last year. I’m not a big fan of Amash in general, but he was right on this issue.
From what Devin Nunes was saying the other day, FISA is up for renewal in March of this year. Looks like the perfect time to defund and dismantle it.
The “Patriot Act” was passed into law after the 9-11 attacks. Bush and his band of Statists/Globalists couldn’t pass that POS fast enough.
With the FISA court hiring a fox to guard the hen house it’s clear how the Obama FBI got away with lying to the FISA court. They got away with lying because the FISA court expected and wanted the FBI to lie to them. The judges are complicit in this conspiracy.
Of course Roberts is DeepState.
Well duh
Wasnt 3 years of inaction since the Adm Rogers whistleblowing enough to convince everyone?
Courts are ordained and established by Congress (see Article III, Section 1). Thus, they can dissolve them at any time.
Few in Congress want to.
