I think Trump can win Illinois in the fall. It used to be a key swing state, if not, THE swing state before 2004 realigned everything.
The last Republican to win IL was either Reagan or Bush in the eighties.
Can Trump contest it?
The Chicago suburbs changed, and there aren’t enough downstaters to move it back.

It is so corrupt, I doubt Trump can win it. BUT I did have two friends just move back to Illinois, so who knows.
If Trump can double the votes from black Americans that he got in 2016, which is within the realm of possibility, Trump can will Illinois.

Sorry, but IL needs a good hard financial crisis and insolvency. Its a one-party state, with that one party controlling the vast bureaucracy and its spending to keep itself in power. Like the Soviet Union, only financial collapse will change its politics.

There is no apparent black conservative voice in the state.
Goober Prickster vowed to have the state become the epicenter of the Resistance Movement.
Trump's DoJ has not yet made moves against the state for the rabid embrace of Sanctuary State status and resistance against ICE.
Trump never comes to Chicago. The State is lost.
There is no Republican leadership and previous Republican leadership helped get Prickster elected. The RNC couldn't tell me who is running in the Senate primary against Little Duck Turban.

No chance. Too many liberals. There is a sliver of hope if Bernie gets the nod, but I doubt it.
I’m afraid there may not be enough intelligent people left in Illinois to turn it. If my business wasn’t there I’d be long gone.
