The folks over at Ammo.com haven’t just been feverishly filling online orders over the past few weeks as Americans across the country are flocking to stock up while the country is locking down. The Ammo.com staff also been keeping track of where the surge in demand is coming from, and have released some fascinating data about the sales spike.

While many gun stores saw the increase in demand kick in last week, the folks at Ammo.com say they first started seeing a swelling demand back in late February, with a 53% increase in sales on February 23rd. By March 15th, the website says sales had increased by a staggering 276% percent.

When comparing 22 days worth of sales from February 23, 2020, through March 15, with sales from February 1, 2020, through February 22, our data shows these staggering statistics:

309% increase in revenue

78% increase in conversion rate

222% increase in transactions

77% increase in site traffic

Much of the online traffic appears to be coming from states that either have reported a high number of COVID-19 cases, or states that border others where clusters have been reported.

Lots of state statistics at link.

Went my local gun range today to relieve some stress thinking it would be empty..

It was empty in range part, but the gun start part was nearly sold out of guns and ammunition...the only things left were out for display...

When I left 4 people were filling out paperwork to make a purchase.....

It’s nuts.
My dream retirement job is turning into a nightmare with this clamoring for guns and ammo.
Lots of new first time buyers with no time to educate them.
One woman bought a Ruger LCP just because that was the only thing we had ammo for.
She’ll hate it the first time she shoots it.

I have more ammo than I will ever use tho at one time I would have thought that I needed more. Basically a surplus of .22LR and .22 Mag.

I do wish I had a bit more soft point 8mm Mauser.

Buy a press and some dies and save a bundle. I produce 45acp, 44mag, 45-70, 30-06 etc at less than half the purchase price. Plus you can almost always find powder, primers and bullets. Plus my Dad left me his molds. I can cast my own if need be. He left me 100 pounds of lead. Lol.

BIL has a whole room full of ammo and the guns to go with them. We live 8 miles away in a remote area. With about four month’s supply of food. We have a deal.

As long as I'm not shot, I will just pick up guns and ammo off the dead bodies laying around.

My wife likes her LCP. Of course, I’ve replaced the grips and added a laser.

She has no problems putting three into center of mass from 25 feet. And that’s without the laser.
