If you claim that calling it ‘Wuhan coronavirus’ is racist, you are part of the cover-up

The Chinese government now is deep into a disinformation campaign denying that this all started in Wuhan. A key component of that campaign is controlling the language used to describe the pandemic, stripping it of its connection to Wuhan and China, mandating that only generic terminology is used. Meanwhile, Chinese diplomats and media spread claims that the virus either started in the U.S. or was planted in Wuhan by the U.S.

So if you claim that calling it Wuhan coronavirus is racist, you are part of the cover-up. Speaking the truth is not the problem, covering up the truth is the problem.

I prefer "The Chinese Bat Bug." The city of Wuhan didn't choose to not be forthcoming; it was the Chinese government that chose this. Maybe bats had nothing to do with the virus, but the Chinese practice of selling them in markets next to other strange animals, not limited to only one of their cities-Wuhan, makes bat to some other animal to human transmission of viruses a risk for which they ought to be called out.

This painful rhetoric has consequences. Restaurants across Boston’s Chinatown have seen up to an 80% drop in business. And I believe this has everything to do with the rapid spread of misinformation and paranoia.”

There is nothing racist about labeling the virus. This is ridiculous, but sadly normal for our media.

With that said, can you imagine if Trump and his administration had handled this virus like Xi and his administration did? He would be impeached and deservedly so, yet we barely hear a peep of criticism for China, their lackey World Health Organization, or how/why the inaction of China created the virus and allowed it to spread throughout the world.

Just ask your liberal friends how they would react if the virus started here and Trump did what they did.
