The Chinese government now is deep into a disinformation campaign denying that this all started in Wuhan. A key component of that campaign is controlling the language used to describe the pandemic, stripping it of its connection to Wuhan and China, mandating that only generic terminology is used. Meanwhile, Chinese diplomats and media spread claims that the virus either started in the U.S. or was planted in Wuhan by the U.S.
So if you claim that calling it Wuhan coronavirus is racist, you are part of the cover-up. Speaking the truth is not the problem, covering up the truth is the problem.

I call it Chinese WMD, because that is clearly what it is.
Political correctness is the refuge of morons, and has diminished our constitutional republic dramatically.
Winnie the Flu
I prefer “Xi Jinping Chinese Communist Party Flu”.
Ask them what the name of the 1918 flu is.
This kind of racism had a direct impact:
“Honestly, it sounds almost so silly to say, but theres a lot of restaurants that are feeling the pain of racism, where people are literally not patroning [sic] Chinese restaurants, theyre not patroning [sic] Asian restaurants because of just straight up racism around the Coronavirus, [AOC] said on Instagram Live.
Her Democratic colleague, Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.):
You know, since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, weve seen not only the spreading of the virus but also a rapid spreading of racism and xenophobia, the lawmaker said during a congressional oversight hearing. We have witnessed it at the highest levels and, in fact, the Republican Party fanning, irresponsibly, these flames. One colleague tweeted that, Everything you need to know about the Chinese Coronavirus. My district is home to nearly 32 percent foreign-born residents, with more than a quarter immigrating from Asia. This painful rhetoric has consequences. Restaurants across Bostons Chinatown have seen up to an 80% drop in business. And I believe this has everything to do with the rapid spread of misinformation and paranoia.

The Corporate Media is only too happy to assist the ChiCom government in whatever propaganda they wish to spread.
When most states have ordered restaurants to cease sit-down dining how can they blame racism for a drop in business?
Although, since the example given is Boston and Boston is chuck full of racist northeast liberals maybe ...
Chinese labs need to make sure their lab animals are cremated.
I agree 100%. And, surprise! The entire DEM/MEDIA/ACADEMIA/HOLLYWOOD cabal have all fallen in line with the Communist Chinese in labeling anyone who calls this pandemic the Wuhan Virus/Wuhan Flu as RAAAACISTS!!!
This makes it all the more Imperative that WE Accurately call it exactly what it is, the Wuhan Virus/Wuhan Flu.
Those American critics who raise the racism canard are themselves inadvertently collapsing the distinctions between an authoritarian regime and those who live under it.
Chinobyl
Wu Flu
Kung Flu
I like that!
I may steal that. I sort of like “Flu Manchu” myself...
There is nothing racist about labeling the virus. This is ridiculous, but sadly normal for our media.
With that said, can you imagine if Trump and his administration had handled this virus like Xi and his administration did? He would be impeached and deservedly so, yet we barely hear a peep of criticism for China, their lackey World Health Organization, or how/why the inaction of China created the virus and allowed it to spread throughout the world.
Just ask your liberal friends how they would react if the virus started here and Trump did what they did.
First they called us racists for not going to restaurants in Chinatown and avoiding huge gatherings of thousands of people like Chinese New Year. Now we’re subversives if we leave the house.
I’m starting to think that liberals just like bossing other people around.
“Manchurian Plague” is an appropriate description.
