During its recent press conference, the agency said that this particularly applied to Somalis, but also immigrants from Iraq, Syria, Finland, Turkey, Iran, the former Yugoslavia, and Eritrea.

Anyone speak Swedish? There is a link to a press conference. Maybe there is some way to get subtitles in English, but I'm not tech-minded enough to figure that out.

I have been wondering, though, about how various groups in Europe might be differentially-impacted by The Virus.

If they did, I think they are doing a bad job given how many people in Africa take quinine in one form or other to deal with the parasitic infections.

I think more likely the virus spreads in immigrant populations due to density and crowded conditions.

It is my assumption, though I could easily be wrong, that the particular populations mentioned here and living in Sweden probably are not that overweight by and large, no pun intended. Those who are obese and have conditions stemming from that, like diabetes, are more impacted by the virus. So if the Somalis in Sweden are being hit harder, they must really be living ten to a room, or something like that.
