I would suggest that this ‘lack’ of leadership extends to just about every corner of the state (the city council of Minneapolis, former DA of the city....Amy Klobuchar, etc).

Agree that Trump’s tweet was unhelpful, although I too will vote for him and would never vote for any Dem, ever.
But there definitely is a problem with the police turning into state goon squads that essentially regard all citizens as enemies of the state and thus legitimate targets for violence. The rioting going on in another state is over a young woman who was shot in her bed by police carrying out a drug raid on the wrong address or at least the wrong person at that address.
The police forces definitely need better leadership not only at the command level but at the political level. I think a lot of the support they once might have gotten from local citizens is evaporating because the cops have been used by the politicians to enforce the “lockdown” restrictions on citizens just going about their ordinary business and even a lot of law abandon people, of any color, don’t trust them now.
Law abiding people, that is...

Kind of looks like Minnesota elected representatives feel the same way about their citizens, which isn't surprising when you think about it.
Blackmon is normally just a little excitable, but well-meaning. Here, he’s just off-the-wall. We don’t even know a crime has occurred here, and he’s raring to hang the cops from the nearest lamp post. Maybe we should test each rope on his neck just to make sure the knots are tied on right.
If a Democratic administration isn’t sure they have the goods on the cops, it’s a cinch that no crime has been committed. Because blacks are probably 25% of the city’s population and ~50% of the Democratic primary vote, any shred of incriminating evidence would have prosecutors landing on the embattled cops’ heads, out of political expediency. And yet, crickets.

Why were the other cops watching this doing nothing? What kind of hiring and training program do they have there? Just like the Eric Garner case in the 100% run democrat city of New York.
