Something strange seems to be going on with Newsweek. Although few are still aware it even exists and even fewer actually read it, they sometimes publish stories that diverge drastically from its usual liberal orthodoxy. Perhaps they are willing to sometimes commit such heresy simply to draw attention. And in the case of their op-ed column by a Yale professor of epidemiology on Thursday, they sure got the attention of anyone reading it since it utterly shattered the media taboo against hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for COVID-19.
The liberals say we "must listen to the experts" and it is hard to find someone with more expertise on the subject of the control of diseases than Harvey A. Risch, MD, PHD, Professor of Epidemiology at the Yale School of Public Health who wrote "The Key to Defeating COVID-19 Already Exists. We Need to Start Using It."

LOL! That’s not going to happen.
Retraction & Apology in 5, 4, 3, 2,...
The MSMs main goal is creating and forwarding controversy. Newsweak is in its last throes so they are going to desperately seek attention. If that means going after other lefties then they’ll gladly do it. Lefties are treacherous and will screw each other in a heartbeat if they think it’s to their advantage.
Well, what can you expect from a university founded by slave traders? Obviously trying to kill everybody.
Newsweek also published a story based on MY scoop that Amy Klobuchar’s hubby took HCQ to treat his COVID-19.
30 years ago, you could swap their covers and no one would be the wiser.
Does “HCQ will kill you” Cavuto know about this op-Ed in Newsweek?
I am impressed by this Newsweek article. Now the question, does anyone still read Newsweek?
They print a story like this every now and again so that if anyone says they are “liberal”, they can point at this story and say, “am not!”
Except they are.
I noticed that too. I don’t know if Newsweek has some new staff or managers, or if it’s simply that this is getting too ridiculous even for the few thinking liberals that may still exist.
Newsweek and Time were always slightly different in their editorial policies, but as Newsweek fell behind (the photographic quality was never quite as high as that of Time) it got more and more to be an imitation Time.
This is the number one reason I have never worried about coronavirus.
President Trump needs to push HCQ/Zinc/AZT with the full force of the federal government so life can go back to normal right now.
Not sure why Trump has sat by while the fear mongering hyenas of the media pushed the "HCQ will kill you " nonsense and allowed tens of thousands to die cause they were never given this highly effective treatment. If HCQ were killing people, I wouldn't even be alive at all. Been taking it for malaria for 50 years.
Cavuto is far more likely to die from diseases associated with being too fat than anything to do with taking HCQ. Trump has really failed by not pushing back strongly against the massive media disinformation on HCQ. All this nonsense could have been ended long ago.
” First, as all know, the medication has become highly politicized. For many, it is viewed as a marker of political identity, on both sides of the political spectrum. Nobody needs me to remind them that this is not how medicine should proceed. We must judge this medication strictly on the science. When doctors graduate from medical school, they formally promise to make the health and life of the patient their first consideration, without biases of race, religion, nationality, social standingor political affiliation. Lives must come first.
Second, the drug has not been used properly in many studies. Hydroxychloroquine has shown major success when used early in high-risk people but, as one would expect for an antiviral, much less success when used late in the disease course. Even so, it has demonstrated significant benefit in large hospital studies in Michigan and New York City when started within the first 24 to 48 hours after admission.”
“They were a pretty good magazines back then.”
Sorry to contradict, but back then they were in full fake news mode already. It was just that nobody knew it yet.
America should adopts a full blown single payer socialist system.
The government runs health care anyhow.
The standard of care is defined by government essentially (NIH) and all insurances only pay for for the recommended protocols, likewise medical professionals will not deviate from it because of risk of litigation.
You get government health care in the US with a private store front.
Besides, even without the the standard of care as defined by a government, with the Veterans Administration, vaccination programs, Ryan White Act, Medicare and Medicaid, and a plethora of other programs for the poor, or illegal pregnant women etc. roughly 40% of health care expenditures in this country is money which the government directly controls and disperses.
***What we have is the worst of both worlds,*** where you have government run health care, but greedy and manipulative insurance companies, big pharma and in some cases hospitals and doctors playing games. So you only get what you get, but then get 7 bills for some procedure, sign a blank check when getting care in some cases, have to wait a long time to get your money back from an insurance if they owe you anything...
We talk a lot about how we are the best, bla bla bla, but I have not seen that. I have seen a lot of self promotion, but when push comes to shove, the average American gets the same government run health care as say in most European countries, only it’s a more complex system that costs the patient a lot more.
I believe in a free market. But that’s long gone anyhow. Today we merely have the charade of a private healthcare system where the government decides that a sex change needs paid for and a broken tooth that’s infected does not constitute a need for a narcotic.
Yes they did.
You are becoming like Bat Masterson. A legend in your time.
All you need is a derby hat. :)
