The media continues to publish polls that assume a turnout completely different from 2020.
The latest CNBC poll, which has Biden up by 6 points, is no different.
Highlights - significant oversampling of younger voters, undersampling of older voters.

I am sooo looking forward to the debates.
What intelligent , decent person is going to discuss their personal political opinions with a stranger on an unsollicited call? These polls are simply not accurate in the age of spam and cancel culture.

It would be extremely odd if the turnout in 2020 is completely different than the turnout in 2020.
IOW, the CNBC poll is completely worthless.
No doubt that if the undersampling/oversampling were to be corrected and reflected the real numbers in real America, that Trump would be beating Biden/Jamaican-Indian ticket, by at least 10 points.
I assume the media produces these fake polls to try to depress Trump voters and decrease turnout. It didn’t work in 2016, I don’t see any reason it will work any better in 2020. So why bother?
I guess I am participating in the cancel culture. I don’t answer my landline or my cell unless I know the person calling.

F polls. ALL POLLS! Even “exit polls”. The only polls that count are the vote of the American people.

Polls do not matter anymore....
I am sure the debates will take place for the following reasons:
1. The challenger needs debates to level the playing field vs. an established POTUS. Debates work to the challenger’s advantage. If it were not for debates, and their potential for upset victories, incumbents would always win re-election.
2. In today’s political reality, debates are the mechanism by which the Democrats leverage their fake news media monopoly over Republicans. They will not give up this great media opportunity to reduce the status of an incumbent Republican, and elevate that of a Democrat challenger.
3. Biden in particular needs the debates to prove to the public he is mentally fit. Whether he likes it or not, the question of his cognitive acuity has been raised, and it must be settled.
4. One thing a candidate can never do is chicken out of the debates. That would be instant political death.
5. Debates aren’t really debates anyway - and they haven’t been for a long time. The moderators are Leftist political hacks, and the format never allows a candidate the time and freedom to develop a reasoned argument or debate strategy. There is no back and forth sparring between the candidates other than “gotcha“ quips and zingers. They are designed to offer maximum opportunity for the Left to spin and manipulate the video and sound bite results after the fact.
In short, Biden can’t afford to duck the debates, but he doesn’t need to - because they are not real debates anyway.
Think of the scene in Gladiator where Caesar challenges him to a fight I the arena, but fatally stabs him under his armor before the fight even begins.
The Democrats have plenty of such dirty tricks at their disposal - they don’t need to chicken out of the debates.
Still disagree. The liberal media will be out in force for why debates aren’t needed. Not being seen benefits Joe much more than being seen. As they say “ It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.”
I hope you are right, because Biden ducking out of the debates will be seen as is a forfeit - an automatic win for Trump and he doesn’t even have to show up!
And if they try to suggest some fake prerecorded thing and call it a “debate”, President Trump will waste no time making fun of Biden’s “take home exam”. Or “Biden’s Basement Bunker debate”.
Or Trump will do ads with Biden’s prerecorded debate sound bites but he will add laughing tracks! This could be hilarious!
Even if the Debate Commission cancels for health reasons, and tries to claim that Biden had nothing to do with it, people will see through it - and Trump will make sure everyone knows Biden chickened out.
Anything short of the three full debates will be a big PR win for Trump - better even than winning the debates!

This is what I see happening and the MSM will be out there loud and strong saying how smart Joe is to keep the country safe and he would have Out debated Trump anyway..etc.
That’s true - they will try to spin everything to Biden debates or no debates.
As President, Trump has all the pomp and circumstance of the White House, Air Force One, the Rose Garden, Trump Plaza, you name it - at his disposal for getting his message out.
Biden has his basement.
The way I see it Biden needed these debates - if he takes a pass that’s his loss.
