A giant crack measuring more than 2 kilometers long opened in the desertic ground of Jiménez, Mexico

The deep fissure has been discovered on September 15, 2020 by local residents.

The 2-km-long crack starts as a small fissure on the side of a remote road (road to Las Adargas, approximately 13 km from the highway).

Then it widens, grows, reaching in certain places up to 1.5 meters wide and up to 3 meters deep.

There is still no official information about the cause and formation of the crack in the ground.

My uncle owns a ranch not more than about 20 miles from here. Beautiful land and great for hunting jack rabbits.

Not close about an 8 or 9 hour drive.

El Paso to Jimenez, Chihuahua is pretty far off.

I’m sure this can be blamed on Trump.

I don’t recall them ever being common. That is not to say they aren’t.

The land is pretty sturdy, but there is tectonic activity now and then around the area. I believe they had a 4.0 within the last year and a couple 5.0’s and above within the last 20.
