saddened ping
BUMP!
Hi Apackof2,
In some ways, yes, a saddened ping. Because it reminds us of so many heartbreaking stories. Of people being forced to leave pets behind. I just read a story about an 80 year old man who floated for 5 days on debris with his dog Chelsea. He was rescued but they wouldn't let him bring the dog any further. Well, Chelsea has just been located and will be reunited with her owner very soon.
And there was the story of a family that came home after seven weeks to find their Doberman Pinscher still alive. Instead of rushing her to a vet, they set her out with the trash. That part is horrible. But the good side of things is that a neighbor called some animal rescuers, who got the dog to an animal hospital. She is going to make it and be re-homed.
I didn't mean for this post to be a saddened ping, but a testament to the resiliency of these pets, hope for those out there still searching for their lost pets, and a tribute to those out there STILL working to save pets and reunite them with their owners.
