Transformers: Genesis actually.
Years ago I was reading philosophy and watching daytime cartoons and out of this unlikely combination I told myself a story as an effort to explore the concepts I was reading about.
As a result, this is not your average fanfic.
It is set a long, looooong time ago in Cybertron's Golden Age. There are absolutely NO humans mentioned (except in the forward, which briefly speculates on if South Park's creators had made the old Transformers show).
Expect to be entertained and maybe even challenged.
The worst you can say is it was worth everything you paid for it.
None of the new transformer cartoons really took my fancy.
For some reason I'm drawn to South Park, Simpsons, Futurama, Justice League, Superman, Family Guy, and Dragon Ball. If robotech ever makes a come back, I'll watch that too.
This isn't based off of the newer Transformers series.
Good! Beast Wars is just...heresy.
The Beast Wars series had some influence because they tried to write stories to plug earlier plot holes. To its credit, it was at least something other than a shameless retelling of old ideas and plotlines just to sell toys (like newer series have been).

Genesis takes place an long time before the original series and is based on G1, Movie, G2 at face value.
Fun fact: if Genesis were "canon" then no Maximal and precious few Predacons could be the real deal. They would almost all be have to be either reformatted Autobots or Decepticons.
Ravage was the only genuine Predacon who appeared in Beast Wars the way I have it. His re-badge was actually a re-re-badge.
