French police thwart joint-rolling world record attempt

Police in France said they had thwarted an attempt by a group of marijuana smokers to roll the world's longest joint by seizing a work-in-progress measuring 80 centimetres (32 inches) in length.

"At some point, these young people had wanted to craft a joint of 1.12 metres to beat the world record in the discipline and get it officially registered," said a police officer in eastern France.

"We don't know who had the idea. Sometimes ideas are created in an astonishing way," he said.

During an investigation targeting a group of four smokers in the eastern Vosges area of France, police discovered the giant joint containing 70 grams of marijuana resin. It had not been finished because of a lack of tobacco.

Dude, 70 grams is more than two ounces. That's a lot of wacky tobacky for a single roach. Like, what were they thinking, man?

And why didn't they finish because of a lack of "tobacco?" I wonder if the person who wrote the article was doing some world record setting of his own.

At least, unlike the rest of France, they were working.

It just shows that marijuana users lack the brain power. They should have had their competition in The Netherlands.

This thread is worthless without pics (and a 1.2m/70g joint would be fairly skinny).

I guess if they had used regular tobacco it wouldn't have qualified?

I used to work with a crew from St. Thomas and Antigua and they would roll two-paper joints. These things were huge. And when they smoke, one person would toke for about ten minutes or so and then pass it on. The first time I witnessed this, I said, "Yo, pass that thing!". Then they told me that that was how it was done in the islands.

Guess that's why it's called dope, cause I was one.

They should have had their competition in The Netherlands.

That was the original plan, but every time they saved up enough money for their trip, they got the munchies and that wiped out the savings.

Marijauana is actually fairly tough to get in euro-land. They smoke hash, typically mixing it with regular tobacco. That's what they mean by the resin = hashish.

That's okay. Muzzies love dope, are stoned much of the time, and in fact Islamic countries make a lot of their income from drug sales. Once French is under sharia, the stoners can simply stay stoned.
