Tires are made of oil so there ought to be some method to extract energy. I mistrust this article when they talk of putting in rocks or anything else.

I have a (now former) friend who licensed another technology for extracting energy from tires (Invented at Georgia Tech, BTW) and tried to build a plant in new Jersey where land fill costs are highest and thus there is financial incentive to overcome the inefficiency or tire extraction (as well as resulting environmental problems)...

They could not quite make it work but now they are building a plant in India. I broke with them over this because they took money for the U.S. government for this. I believe this should work without U.S. government funding or not at all.
