I need some Freep help. I was at my FRiend's house last night and browsing Free Republic while logged in on his account, and I noticed a lot of articles appearing that I have never seen before. I logged in and checked all my account and message block display settings and noticed I do not have the option for "Humor" in my message block settings and I have been able to see any humor messages before. The only way I can see them is if I know the thread name and search for a keyword in the title, ie: "Silliness".
Is there a way to fix my account and get it to show me ALL the messages posted to FR? I had always assumed that I was seeing all messages when I clock on the "Forum" link at the top of the page and am taken to the "Latest articles" page. Do these "Latest Articles" not include everything from each of the browsable forums?

I had been using no blocks forever, and decided to add them last night while trying to fix this problem. Even with no blocks, I had never seen those threads that my friend was.
Also, I just noticed that Canteen threads don’t show up in the latest articles. It seems there should be a better way to organize FR that doesn’t require a learning curve. I’ve a an über tech savvy guy, but I’m finding things on FR that I hadn’t known before, so its kind of making me sad. :)

Supposedly hundreds of thousands of people visit this place. If more of them understood how to use the unique software here, I think they might appreciate and enjoy it a little more...and then it might not take six weeks to raise the quarterly funds.
There was a Freeper of several years experience who had never seen the Free Republic homepage because there is no ‘Home’ to click on as in most other web sites (for any who don’t know...just click on the words ‘Free Republic’ at the top of the page).
I don’t know what you mean by “no blocks”.
I see somehow that you got your ‘weight’ parameters alot different from what I show.
If I can remember my photo-bucket account password, I’ll do a screen capture image and send what I have to you
for a starter, give all ‘zero values’ at least a 1 or a 5

Then I looked at all the topics available, found "Humor" and clicked on it. At the bottom of the page with all the posts is an "Add To My Page" link. I clicked this, and then it takes me to my "Manage Blocks" page, where I can now add this to my sidebar. This seems to be some significant progress, but I still can't understand why I was never able to see these articles by default when just clicking on the "Forum" link that takes us to "Latest Articles". |

By George, I think you’ve got it!
I think the ‘Everything’ Forum includes Bloggers & Personal, General/Chat, News/Activism, and Religion... but maybe none of the rest of the Forums (not sure). I’ll bet John Robinson knows.
I used to use only the News/Activism forum, then realized I was missing some interesting or humorous things in the General/Chat and Bloggers & Personal areas... so I now click on ‘Forum’ at the top of the page which is this (for any who may not know):
