Boston Marathon Live Thread

A field of 26,386 runners left Hopkinton for the Boston Marathon on Monday, with some top American contenders hoping to earn the first U.S. victory in the race in decades.

Temperatures in the 40s with a light headwind greeted the competitors at the start of the 113th edition of the race.

I’ll be the first to predict that the men’s race will be won by a Kenyan, Ethiopian or Morrocan.

Do you know where we can view this on TV? I rarely watch the news anymore, but I would turn it on for this—as long as there aren’t too many BHO press conferences to interrupt it!

Howie’s in FL and glad that he won’t have to deal with the closed off streets that divide the city and make his commute a living hell.
