I got bitten in the face by a dachshund when I was around four or five, did exactly that, stuck my face right up to the dog and stared at it. Scared the heck out of me, no stitches though. The dog’s owner felt so bad that he took the dog out back and whipped it for ten minutes. I felt guilty over that. Getting right in a dog’s face is a challenge or a threat in dogworld. Especially to one that is chained or cornered. There aren’t that many breeds that would be good natured about it. A Lab or a Golden would probably have licked his face, but what else?
Where are all the angry articles about cats biting and scratching small children?
I don’t know. Shitzus and bichon frise maybe.
I wouldn’t call it an “angry” article. Just stating the facts. Heck, even the policeman is rather dismissive of it.
Actually, I’d say many dogs WOULD put up with that, but it’s dangerous behavior. My own 1yo is so used to our GS who allows him to do anything, that it’s becoming dangerous. We need to start training him soon to treat dogs with greater respect, because not all are like she.
I can beat that. I got bitten in the face by a Chihuahua when I was that age! I did the same thing. I thought, what a cute little puppy. I bet I can give it a KISS. NOT! Chewed the inside of my mouth to pieces! I hated that dog from then on. And I LOVE ANIMALS!
