"The Iowa Department of Public Health has determined that you have had contact with a person with Novel Influenza A H1N1," the form reads. "The Department has determined that it is necessary to quarantine your movement to a specific facility to prevent further spread of this disease.

"The Department has determined that quarantine in your home and other less restrictive alternatives are not acceptable," the document continues, before listing mandatory provisions of compliance with relocation to a quarantine facility.

Why is it I have a sneaky feeling a lot of patriots are going to come down with swine flu, and we aren't going to see them again? But that's just me and my tinfoil hat! We don't have a black supremicist muslim named Barack Hussein and a bunch of communists in the White House or anything- ha ha That would be crazy.

Every single health department, civil defense group, and law enforcement organization has quarantine plans in place for ‘worst case scenarios’ like the 1918 pandemic. Nothing notorious here, you always plan for the worst.

People read way too much into this stuff.

Or not enough, apparently.

No proposed power taken by the government is any more righteous than its worst possible abuse. We are not talking about active and contagious TB here.

We should always be careful about such things but 1918 and the black death seem good reasons for us to have good quarantine plans in place at all levels of government. I don’t think this is sinister as yet.

There was a story where Cuba has a camp for HIV/AIDS people.

The 1918 pandemic wasn’t TB either, it was the Spanish Flu. The fact is, you dig enough, you will find every single agency that could be impacted, for every year going back at least 50 years will have something like this in place. Contingencies and procedures are always drafted so people know what to do, ‘just in case’.. hell, there is even a famous Department of Defense memo from the 60s on what to do ‘just in case’ of an alien encounter..

You have to keep bureaucrats busy doing something..

Someone is gonna get shot!

The government says 3 or 4 shots might be needed.......oh, you don't mean THAT kind of shot! ;-)

Yes I would like to know that also.
Will have to be packing different clothes for one or the other, a lot of makeup or not a lot. etc.
Run for the hills.

Seriously,
Pray for our country.

Freepers always howl when MSM outlets like the NY Slimes lead with an outrageous headline and then bury the context deep in the article. But that is exactly what WND did here. WND is a disgrace of a media outfit, IMO.

Read the entire article. WND buried the context deep within.

WND has earned the sobriquet “Wing Nut Daily” among some of my friends.

The full quote is “if your home is not acceptable”. The form spells out why that could be, for example if you refused to stay in your home when told to, or if you did not have a home.

I always fear government, but I do expect that if someone has an infectious and deadly disease, the government will be allowed to take steps to keep those people out of shopping malls where my family might be shopping, or schools where my children attend.

Same here - I wonder if there would be entertainment provided by some ACORN folks like sing a-longs to Dear Leader.

No its not TB. What makes this even more absurd. Influenza A doesn’t lend itself to quarantine. Aside from individuals staying out of the public square, there is no point to it.
