Prelude to large offshore seismic or volcanic events?
Get a pile of a couple hundred of them, leave them in the sun for a few days, and they will smell like a pile of dhim congresscritters...
I have caught Humbolt squid (Rojo Diablo)when I was fishing down in the Sea of Cortez in Baja. They are a pain in the a$$ and will go after anything. The smaller ones are good eating and they make fine bait. They also seem to like to beach themselves in some kind of macabre suicidal pact, littering the beach with gasping squid bodies.
