NFL.com: Hanson talks to cops
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | 9/29/9 | David White

Raiders defensive assistant Randy Hanson finally interviewed with the Napa police, telling them Friday that Raiders coach Tom Cable struck him and broke his jaw Aug. 5 at training camp, his attorney told NFL.com on Monday.

Napa police confirmed (again) the potential felony case remains under investigation more than a month since the story broke. Hanson's attorney said Hanson handed over medical records showing he has a broken jaw.

When the investigation ends, the district attorney will decide whether or not to press charges. Only then should anyone expect the NFL to take any disciplinary action in the matter -- if they decide to at all.

If the Raiders were winning, Davis would tolerate all types of behavior from Cable, but . . .

Why is this considered aberrant behavior for the Raiders? I thought this was their SOP - biggest baddest gangbangers of the world.

Cable is just the head coach, not a player. He can do just so much.

Jamarcus Russell couldn’t possibly have done it. He isn’t accurate enough to come close to where he is trying to hit.

He can’t even do that. The players all know Al Davis is the authority, so they don’t even bother when he’s not around. Of course, Cable choose to except a job, that no one could succeed at.

Their last Super Bowl appearance was only seven years ago but it seems like decades.

My prediction: if Russell continues the way he is and has been, next year, Michael Vick starts for the Raiders. You heard it here first, folks!
