Pedro Ramirez, Fresno State's student body president, is an undocumented immigrant serving in the position without pay.
Ramirez, 23, attends school on scholarships and pays in-state tuition. California is one of 10 states that permit undocumented immigrants to pay in-state tuition -- a position that was upheld by the state Supreme Court this week.

A legal U.S. Resident moving from, say, Nevada has to pay out-of-state tuition. Illegals get the discount rate.

Don’t we both think that is exactly why the Mexican Gov is dragging their feet of stopping this mess? They know if they wait long enough and the violence gets even worse along the border, the good ole USA will be sending BILLIONS down Mexico way to help the fight.

I thought there was a federal law that prohibited in-state tuition for illegals? If so, why do these state’s (the ones that allow it) students receive federal Pell grants and student loans?
Cali is beyond the point-of-no-return. We will watch them fail, and then the taxpayers of the remaining states will bail them out so they can start all over again down the same path.

We had a baby born in the family recently b was was from overseas, here legally (year delay, red tape, legal fees, etc.). Hospital said, “She can sign up for Medicaid — they don’t ask them if they have papers to be here.”. Free health insurance for illegals directly from the Feds.

Whatever happened to the USA being ‘a nation of laws’?
I was taking about denying federal student grant and loans to students attending CA state colleges because the state of CA is not following federal law regarding in-state tuition for illegals. If the law was being enforced properly, there would be a consequence for such violation of federal law vis-a-vis in-state tuition for illegals.
Laws, schmaws. Grab what you can get before it’s all gone.
