if you've been here two years, you're not going to be surprised with a majority of the answers you are going to get.

as in "WTH"?

or, "i'm just wondering if anyone can tell me how if there's an online course on how to break into a SCIF......just wonderin?", etc.

This isn’t classified stuff - a friend of mine actually builds these for a company that contracts with the government and wants to move up.

He wants to know if there are courses that cover requirements, specifications, regulations, etc. so he can get certified.

He’s already enrolled in a one-day at the local community college for a quickie overview, but wants something more substantial ...

WTH you talkin’ bout? The hardening of a room to acomodate SCI data IS NOT classified. My friend actually builds these and DID NOT have to receive a clearance in order to do it.

The SCIF is basically a Faraday cage - the technology of which has been around for say AT LEAST 100 years. Hardly a national secret ...

OTOH, after my friend has built a SCIF, it has been accepted, and SCI material has been placed within - THEN he IS NOT allowed inside ...

NCMS (National Classification Management Society) runs courses, though you have to be a member (i.e. have to have a clearance). Also you can do a search for JAFAN 6/3 and JAFAN 6/9 for specs.

I don’t miss the classified world ! When I worked in classified labs, etc, I went out of my way to stay clear of classified information. Luckily being a Sys Admin, it was easy to avoid the information. The only classified info I had to know were padlock and safe combos and system passwords !
