It’s been ages since I saw that anime, but now I am a fan of Robotech.

there was a Japanese movie from the fifties about a flying submarine. It was on the afternoon sci fi movie every few weeks when I was growing up in the seventies.

The name of the movie was “Atragon”. They updated the story in the 90’s with the “Super Atragon” anime series.

I have no idea who did that, or why, but that was an absolute mindfreak! Of course, to have Yamato that close to the ground with engines operating, you’d experience an ear-splitting roar.

I discovered Robotech way back on an independent station that I could barely pull in.

Anyway there is the Manga channel on youtube that runs the remastered episdoes.
