Call your local butcher shop and see what 1/2 a cow runs. I suspect it is a lot less than $3 per pound. Would need a freezer though

There’s some local beef around here, but I don’t have that kind of freezer space, and just don’t eat beef often enough. I like to grill a steak now and then.
