Dollar General has Libby brand canned vegetables on sale for $.40/can. I might rotate my stock out a little early to cash in on this deal.

Thanks for the heads up on that.

That's a much better buy than Aldi's or generics.

We haven't bought any Libby's in a while but as I recall their veggies were comparable to other brands.

Doesn’t hurt at all having canned veggies stashed.

But the more I think about it, the more I tend towards carbs/beans.

The reason? n average human doesn’t need a huge amount of protein. A can of tuna will be enough for a day for the average person, as long as they are not hugely physically active.

But you need calories. Just to maintain your body temps if nothing else.

And I think most canned VG’s will give you fiber, some vitamins, calcium, phosphorous, but not much in the carbs or protein department.
