A mortified Ryan Lochte is desperately exercising damage control after his mother claimed on national TV that he only does ‘one-night-stands.’ Now both the swimming star and his mother have tried to clarify that she meant to say that he only takes girls on dates as he doesn’t have time for a serious relationship. ‘She meant since the last four years I just wanted to focus on swimming, and I didn't really have time for a relationship,’ he told Us Weekly on Friday.

He actually has a degree in management (sport management) from Florida and I heard that his mother has an accent and didn’t understand what “one night stand” meant. I may be wrong, but I read that somewhere. She meant he just went out on dates occasionally with all of his training, so he wasn’t in a relationship.
There was an article in the past day or so that explained that MOST Olympic swimmers do this.
Mom should have kept her mouth shut before discussing her son’s personal life. Whether she didn’t use the correct terminology (perhaps she thought a one night stand meant one date) or not, this isn’t anyone’s business. IMHO.

Depends on the University in Florida whether that degree means anything. I work with a guy who was on an football scholarship at a Fla University and he says he never attended a class. His full time job was football. Somebody sat in for him and did his class work.
After reading Tebow’s book, it was pretty obvious that he got his degree in football with a minor in academics.
Which is fine if you’re a true NFL prospect, but not so good if you’re going to need a job in business after you graduate.
I’d speculate even at Florida there are only a half dozen per year who make it and probably half of them last just a couple years.
He is a WAY better role model than that awful Phelps druggie.
Is his mom’s house being foreclosed on? This morning I heard Imus’s Wolf said it was Gabby’s mom’s $80,000 townhouse being foreclosed on. ANyone which one is true, if either??

Who cares?
Everyone pees in the pool at one time or another and all swimmers do it especially women swimmers..those one piece suits are a a pain to remove. One reason why I won't get in a hot tub with a bunch of people drinking..beers + warm water =bad combo.
P.S. Most people pee in the shower also...
Mothers of Olympic wanna-be stars should never be allowed on television by the athlete’s agents. They usually manage to besmirch the name brand with either stupid remarks such as this, or they come across as the pushy-mom type, such as Michael Phelps has.
I for one will come out and say if I was in my early 20’s and had an olympic swimmers body there is no way I would have one steady girlfriend.
