Waste Opponents Money - Question

Posted on 09/04/2012 6:18:14 PM PDT by ktupper

If we started a campaign for Conservatives to click thru on every democrat ad seen on the Web, would it prohibitively drive up the cost for them?

No, of course not. If enough people would click on the link/s at the same time then it might shut down the site which would be, essentially, a DoS, ( Denial of Service ), attack but that would be the best for which you could hope.

No, I think that's wrong. They pay to advertise and put those banners up. They pay by how much traffic is generated (or how many times it gets clicked.)

I think ktupper may be onto something. Why not take it one step farther and say you are going to donate? At the very least that will cause them some consternation when you change your mind.

It would waste a tremendous amount of money. Especially google ads which mostly charge for click throughs. The DNC is desperate for any ‘new media’ to take off and be effective, and a sharp increase in click throughs would mean they'd pour even more money into the web.

The only thing is, you should be selective in what you click on. Clicking on an Obama ad when doing a search for homosexuals shacking up and calling themselves married, that’d mean they'd increase their ad buys targeting this ‘effective viewpoint.’

Free abortions, gay marriage, free condoms, medical marijuana - those are key phrases where you click through and like the old Pavlovian hound, you'll get the DNC salting to dump more and more money into that, and change their ads online and in other media to highlight these ‘focus driven viewpoints.’

But that's not all the places you troll for Obama ads. While the national campaign is kinda a joke, the state campaigns for senate and house seats are a completely different matter. Just adjust your keywords to include the name of a state or the name of a candidate.

And use something like the ‘stealth’ mode in Firefox or incognito in Chrome - that’ll reset your cookies each time you close the browser, meaning you'll be counted as a new visitor next time around.

The best drain on their money, however, comes from searching for Republican keywords - Mitt Romney, tea party, etc. Since they are bidding against Republicans, to get their ads seen, they have to bid higher. Some click throughs can cost them a dime or more, like on a keyword like ‘Sarah Palin’ or ‘Rush Limbaugh.’

Though remember: Only click through on ads on conservative websites. Don't go clicking ads on the Huffington Post. You'll just make money for liberals running the Huffer, and the tenths of pennies you might cost the DNC won't result in any more targeting. They won't spend all that much extra to preach to their choir.

I have been doing that. The problem is I see so many more ads of Obama and his Wookie it makes me ill.

You are assuming that Google is even charging Obama for the ad space.

Oh, how heavenly would that be if they weren't... Not only for the lack of reporting for campaign contributions, but the shareholders could certainly have a nice little revolt over that. But such fantasies aren't to come true - there's nothing that a liberal loves more than charging another liberal money. Free things are for the poor, the downtrodden, the destitute. Liberals are far more liberated than that. Besides, Google will contribute most of the money back to the campaign!

Only it doesn't work like that, not even close to that way. Just recall, out of the billion dollar Obama warchest, 800 million of it went to television and radio commercials. The amount of money they waste is astounding.. Well, that is, unless you consider how they blow through the public’s money.

So yes, target DNC ads, make them pay, and make them buy more for the most obscene things. Guys kissing for Obama, a ‘normal’ family of two women and one boy. Free abortions as a right! Condoms for kindergarteners! Sterilization for 13 year olds! Watch the campaign self destruct as they bury themselves in their liberal echo chamber and drown out any reasonable voice.

Because if you look at this year's DNC platform, it reads as one of the most radical agendas ever - none of that platform would win a popular vote in ANY state, even California. Let them hang themselves with it. Oh, and drain the unions of another billion dollars, diverting from their looting of the public dollar to support a doomed campaign.
