Read the “spoilers” - who cares, it’s a Star Trek movie.
I’ll be there the second weekend (hate crowds) to crunch popcorn and drink watery soda (both horrendously overpriced) to see the Captain and crew take on all comers.
Sounds like me -- I also hate crowds; however, why are you paying for overpriced stuff. My hubby is an expert at putting water bottles in his socks and I put a candy bar into my purse or he puts one in is pocket. Can't help you on the popcorn. Before they started refusing to allow anyone in with a backpack, I once observed a man with about three kids who opened the backpack and unpacked all of the treats, including drinks, and parceled them out to the kids. Of course, now they do not allow you to bring in that kind of stuff; but, we do it anyway. I refuse to pay 3x the cost for a candybar that is half the size of one I could buy at any other store.
I usually go to the Omni here in town. It’s the $2 movie house a month behind the chains.
For under $18 two of us get in and get 1 bottomless buttered popcorn and two large drinks (refillable).
I only go to the expensive joints when I can’t wait the extra 6 weeks but want to see it on the big screen. So that’s Star Trek and The Hobbit - the rest I’ll see at the Omni.
Sorry I do not support Hollyweird in any way as far as box office goes!
I’ll watch a B/W 1940 film with some plot and real drama first!Old Westerns I love! I’m not gonna pay 20 bucks for a peice of crap film with no dialog and an Effects track that drowns the actors voice out! Last Theater visit I think was Dragonfly! was ok! However the cell phones goin off and the babies crying and the fat lady that needed a bathroom every 10mins and the A/C out roasting all patrons was not worth the price of admission. It’s amazing the price people will pay have to make every one have a crappy experience!
You should try a better movie theater.

Same here. Figure the best way to stick it to Hollywood is to wait to watch it on Netflix

I’ll go on a weekday matinee (benefit of being retired) I also will not look at reviews till then. I already learned more about the movie than I wished to by accident.
I do agree it needs more Shatner! :-D
