'We're sticking with Paula': Deen fans protest with butter wrappers

(CNN) -- Some die-hard fans are getting all wrapped up in a campaign to defend Paula Deen.

They're sending cleaned and origami-folded butter wrappers to Food Network and other companies that dropped the popular chef and cookbook author in the wake of allegations of racism and sexual harassment. Deen later admitted to "of course" using the n-word. The wrappers are intended as signs of protest -- physical declarations of "we're sticking with Paula."

John Schmitt, a hotel night auditor in Indianapolis and the man behind the campaign, says he couldn't abide by the "betrayal" of Food Network, QVC and others. He felt he had to do something to express his disgust at the situation.

If she had not made 3 apology tapes and gone on NBC to suck up to Matt, I would feel sorry for her, but she made her bed. I don’t care that she voted for Obama.....many were naive to his evil power....the devil’s work for sure. However, if she loses every penny, I will not cry for her because of her terrible PR stunt after the deposition.

Same here - really had little idea of her, beyond she did food - until the PC crowd got their panties in a wad.

It’s a small gesture to tell the bully boys that there are folks who do not like their bullying. It’s beyond Paula.

She naively though genuine contrition would affect these dead souls.

And she was one of their major players. Guess they figured they were established enough and didn’t need her anymore.

Well, their lineup sucks now. ALL reruns. Of crappy food or of filthy, disgusting restaurants or restaurant employees who should be jailed. Makes me not want to eat out again.

Every time I see one of those shows with the filthy restaurants that haven’t been cleaned since the Eisenhower administration, I always wonder..how did they pass the health inspection..who signed off on it..how big was the bribe, and when are then going to jail..yet no one ever seems to care..

‘Sucking up to Matt’ - yeh, but don’t forget, that’s what liberals DO. They FEEL guilty, they grovel and apologize, they bend over if necessary - it’s supposed to clean them of their sins. She did as programmed.

She supported Jimmy Carter, she should have had more respect for the country to have backed barry.
The woman's a fruit cake, as in mentally ill. For years she couldn't leave her home. She had an affair with a married man, gave him money, and was dumb enough to write about it in her book.
