Kaitlyn Hunt is being urged to accept the new deal which would keep her out of jail and prevent her from being registered as a sex offender - if she pleads no contest to two misdemeanor battery counts and one felony count for interference of child custody..The latest plea deal was offered by the Florida state attorney's office in July, reported CNN, because it balances the needs of Hunt, the unidentified teenage girl and their parents.

I disagree. This deal seems to make light of what happened, when compared to what would most likely have occurred if this had been a male-female case.

Imagine if an 18 year old male had seduced and had sex with this underage girl. I doubt the male would have been given this plea deal or had thousands of sympathy letters. The little lesbian is getting off easy and she should take the deal and go away.

So, okay, the older girl's very pretty. That shouldn't cut her any slack, but I'm sure it does.

My daughter just turned 20, she's got a great boyfriend, and they're happy. But I remember very well when she was just 14.

If anybody 19, male or female, had put moves on her when she was 14, I would have gone ballistic.

One, a 5-year difference at that age is HUGE. It's college sophomore vs. high-school freshman. YIKES!

Two, a sexual relationship, anything much beyond kissing (mouth-to-mouth, thank you), is totally inappropriate at 14.

Three, as a guy, I know full well what would have happened to me at age 19 if I'd gotten caught fooling around with a 14 yr old girl. And whatever that punishment was probably would have been about right, too. That's just not a good thing.

The older girl should take the deal and go with it, stop whining, and count her blessings and good fortune.

How many 18 and 19 year old “boys” have been prosecuted and ordered to register as sex offenders for life because they had sex with underage girl friends? This is BS, prosecute her exactly the same. After all is it the “gays” who are demanding to be treated equally in marriage? It’s only fair they get treated the same for statutory rape. No special treatment for perverts.

I would think that she would have to register if she moved to another state. But she should have to register in FL, she has "short eyes".
