After months of speculation, actress and model Dakota Johnson has been announced to play Anastasia in the Fifty Shades of Grey film, while Charlie Hunnam will play Christian Grey.

EL James, the author behind the erotic trilogy and, according to Forbes, the richest writer in the world, broke the news on her Twitter feed on Monday. Ms James wrote: "I am delighted to let you know that the lovely Dakota Johnson has agreed to be our Anastasia in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey." An hour later, she posted: "The gorgeous and talented Charlie Hunnam will be Christian Grey in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey."

Never heard of either.

Some books should not be adapted to movies and I liked this series.

I thought Griffith was hooked up with Banderas? What did I miss?

Charlie Hunnam plays “Jax” on the Sons of Anarchy series... Right?

Correct. Great series too. The cast really supports our troops.

I’ll be skipping this movie. It’s not my cup of tea at all.

hey look, a film about the corruption of purity and the idolization of wanton sexual behavior trivializing intimacy while promoting moral decay and the objectification of women.

in other words, an introspective look through the eyes of democrats.

how new.

yup, another movie i won’t even bother to download

I must really be old and out of the loop. This is the first I ever heard of EL James or "Fifty Shades of Gray". I do like Sons of Anarchy, though.

Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson's daughter.

Amazingly, I can see both of them in that face.

They get married, have children and punish the pedophile in the final book...how is that corruption of purity?

He is. My buds here at the Hollywood USO say that everyone from male cast of Sons of Anarchy are pro-America and they show up when they can.

That’s interesting. I’ll admit I know nothing about the series other than it’s naughty. To each his own, but I prefer not to read the books. This mainly stems from the fact that I’ve heard the writing is terrible. Again, I’m only relying on word of mouth. Your take has an interesting conservative attitude that, unfortunately, many twits who read the series will not get. In the speech classes I teach, every single gay student has worked into their speeches something about helping abused kids. It has convinced me that abuse is the root of this, and the naughty bits in the series. Just my 2¢.

what was going on in first 2 books?

hollywood’s desire is to showcase anything that would further decay America’s moral foundation.

you can be 100% certain they won’t show anything negative towards pedophiles, homos, or perverts in general

Yeah, I read all 3 books to see what the fuss was about.
So I liked the heroine is faithful, stands up for herself, doesn’t have any abortions and gets married in the end.

This isn’t literature. Its Sharknado for readers.

In the first 2 books alot of drama & angst happened.

You’re right on about Hollywood which is why I fear they’ll find a way to glorify the pedophile.
