***they are now “Hechoed” en Mexico.***

You should look at LEVIS. They used to be make local, then Mexico, then Guatamala, Dominican Republic, Colombia.
I don’t know where they are made now.

***America has exported our Manufacturing base. ***

Somehow Ross Perot’s term “a giant sucking sound” comes to mind.

I agreed with Ross Perot then, and I agree with Ross Perot now.

Just for full disclosure.

The only difference is Ross was talking about Mexico, which lost the low end jobs to China, which is losing them to Indonesia and Vietnam.

Too bad ol’ Ross Pee-row was such a caricature and a paranoid one at that. I don’t know about President, but this country definitely could have used him in some capacity, and we wouldn’t be in quite as sad a shape now, economically. He knew what was coming and made no bones about it.

Cheap labor will make these manufacturing plants work and that has got to tie into illegals being normalized as “guest workers” on a pathway to citizenship-amnesty.

“...“Hechoed” en Mexico...”

If the quality is good, I’ll take Latin America over Asia, hoping it will bring economic development to our neighbors, maybe help in some fractional way to stem illegal migration.

One can find made in America goods in Wally World. I was surprised to find some decently “made in USA” bath towels there - bought them too. I am not loyal to Wally, but buy from them to meet my own objectives (just like they do to their suppliers). I can get better price deals and made in USA items elsewhere too.

It is my understanding that China is actually having labor wage pressures upward. Long term increases in cost of energy (oil) will further erode the advantages of cheap imports. Finally, it is well underreported that there has actually been manufacturing growth in this country, especially in economically-politically sound (”red color”) states. God Bless America.

In my opinion, Ross Perot was made to appear that way by the political establishment in D.C., and the MSM.

Anyone who threatens their power base will be ridiculed, set up, marginalized, or slandered.

Witness Sarah Palin, Ted Cruz, and many more. I weep for our nation, as I pray for her.

Ross Perot was a radical pro-abortion, anti-gun nut, and a regular nut to boot with that wedding stuff.

We need jobs. Lots of jobs. Good jobs.

Bring back American jobs.

I agree. But buy-American schemes won't do it. Until our government makes capital investment more profitable, the jobs will continue to go where it is.
