Exactly, the future doesn’t exist yet and the past exists only in memory.
Time Travel forward IS possible. We all do it at the rate of 1 second into the future per second.
Now, if you want to compress your travel, you merely need to get your velocity up to close to lightspeed, relative to where you want to visit the future of. That’s standard Einsteinian Mechanics, the Lorentz-Fitzgerald equation. . .
How could they find them. The travelers already knew about it before they started looking.
I was reading that the New Horizons probe has gone about .004 seconds into our future. (as perceived by us)
Well, where are the “time travelers” that are going to clean up the mess that is Obamacare? Now THERE is a project worthy of highly concentrated research and development of time travel technology, the sooner it can be undertaken and instituted, the better.
Maybe on that other timeline, Obamacare actually works.

So they think they can find time travelers on the Internet, maybe if someone could time travel they maybe a little bit smarter the those looking!

Yes I’ve heard that this is what scientists think might be possible (what’s with the Michigan guys I don’t know, I just hope we’re not paying for it). I said that here once on a similar thread and another Freeper pointed out that we’re time traveling to the future RIGHT NOW, only slowly!

Something I picked up about the time dilation effect about Voyager 1.

To get a rough estimate of the effect, assume the Voyager has been at it’s current distance of approximately 125 AU for all 35 years. With that assumption, the Voyager 1 clock would be faster by 11 seconds compared to a clock on Earth (see (35 years)*((1 - 2*G*(mass of sun)/((1 AU)*c^2))^0.5-(1 - 2*G*(mass of sun)/((125 AU)*c^2))^0.5) )
So general relativity makes the clock on Voyager 1 run faster by 11 seconds but special relativity makes it run slower by 1.8 seconds - all compare to a clock on Earth.

My friend “Mullet Man” The Oakview Time traveler, exists but due to government groups trying to capture him and his machine, he took it and himself back in time when he would be safe—1959. Why then? he said simply “I like Ike”. He said he would go to San Fernando Valley in California or Texas? I haven’t heard from him since! He said he would come back with money—but so far I haven’t seen a cent.
Which leads to the conclusion that the only reality that exists is the present moment.
In the future, one possible future, machines used by the NSA and US military gain intelligence and plot to take over the world. A war ensues as the human resistance attempts to live free of the machines like it had for eons. In order to try and prevent the rise of technology that gives way to the invention of thinking machines, men from the future come back through time to change the present. They reason that if the US economy and innovative spirit can be thwarted the machines will never be invented. Their mission, get a third world communist incompetent with real daddy issues in a position of world power and through political machinations destroy the technological and economic advances of the human race and send it spinning back to the dark ages. So far the resistance plan is working as hoped.
There would be very strict rules governing time travel.
You could look up information, but not post or otherwise transmit data NOT found in that current time frame.
You could do research in that current time frame, query for specific information, but not put up information not already present.
Flipside, in “many worlds theory”, any decision leads to a split in the timeline.
One timeline where someone took action “A”, one timeline where they did not.
So even IF you DID go back in time, you may not be in “Your” past.
You would be in the past of “alternate you”.
Now how to get home?
No such thing.
You can’t.
“Your” home timeline is now unfindable.
Congrats, you’re now lost in time.
Enjoy your stay in the current time frame.
