Rush nails it, as usual.

Former Republican Virginia governor Bob McDonnell was 'bi-partisan' and the Democrats still try to destroy him with corruption charges. To the left, it's always about perception because (a) the leftmedia will support that meme and (b) the Low Information Voter won't question it.

This is how Democrats, who are basically socialists in 'moderate' clothing, keep getting elected to high offices where they then cause grief for the people in the form of higher taxes and eventually, less liberty (via rules and regulations as well as laws).

I get the point, Rush, but McDonnell, and bride especially, have shown stupidity, greed and grasping, in a most distasteful way, certainly unbecoming a governor. I get the media’s interest, but they smear Republicans over much less than this— for things like principle. This is a gimme McDonnell has handed them.

I see you can drag cash through the McDonnell governor’s mansion as easily as a trailer park (according to old serpent- head Carville).

Still, McD would have done it all again the same way, even being an early booster of Romney.

I liked McDonnell and saw him as a future contender for national office.... the sky seemed to be the limit for him.

But... if even half these charges are true, he and his wife made themselves a bed full of dogsh*t and they now have to lie in it. And, even if it turns out somehow that they’re exonerated, that doesn’t change the fact that you can’t even give the appearance of impropriety, especially as a GOPer. You don’t get the breaks democrats get when they push the limits of legality.

Moral of the story... DON’T accept gifts while in elected office. THEN.. you don’t have to explain them.

Joseph Fouche, minister of police for Napoleon and a radical Jacobin had this aphorism: "It is not enough to merely kill a man, you must destroy his reputation."

In Dealing with the Jacobins of the DemocRAT party, it is well to remember that.
