Irony: Obama Tells Prayer Breakfast: “We Believe in the Dignity of Every Person”

President Barack Obama gave a speech at the National Prayer Breakfast Thursday with language striking pro-life themes — ironic given the massive pro-abortion record he has compiled in two terms as president.

Obama took the podium at the 62nd National Prayer Breakfast at the Washington Hilton and spoke to a crowd of about 3,500.

barackobama7“Each of us is wonderfully made in the image of God- we believe in the inherent dignity of every person,” Obama told the attendees. “No society can truly succeed unless it protects the rights of all of its people.”

“Extremists succumb to an ignorant nihilism that shows they don’t understand the faiths they claim to profess, for killing the innocent is never fulfilling God’s will. In fact, it is the ultimate betrayal of God’s will,” Obama said — though he was talking about terrorism.

He also said the breakfast gives participants the chance to “put aside labels of party and ideology and (be) what we are first, children of a loving God.”

“Our concern should not be whether God is on our side, but whether we are on God’s side,” he said.

No kidding Mr. President — you might want to look in the mirror.

The words from the president ring hollow in light of how he, just last month, issued a statement celebrating the 41-year-old Roe v. Wade decision that allowed for virtually unlimited abortions. The decision, handed down on January 22, 1973, overturned pro-life laws offering protection for unborn children in most states across the country, and made abortions legal and virtually unlimited. Almost 57 million unborn children have been killed in abortions since.

The statement follows:

Today, as we reflect on the 41st anniversary of the Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade, we recommit ourselves to the decision’s guiding principle: that every woman should be able to make her own choices about her body and her health. We reaffirm our steadfast commitment to protecting a woman’s access to safe, affordable health care and her constitutional right to privacy, including the right to reproductive freedom. And we resolve to reduce the number of unintended pregnancies, support maternal and child health, and continue to build safe and healthy communities for all our children. Because this is a country where everyone deserves the same freedom and opportunities to fulfill their dreams.

First Lady Michelle Obama and Vice President Joe Biden joined the president at the breakfast, which was attended by guests from 130 nations – including Bujar Nishani, the president of Albania, and Michel Martelly, the president of Haiti.

Other guests at the head table with the Obamas included Sens. Robert Casey (D-Pa.) and Roger Wicker (R-Miss.), former Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and gospel singer Yolanda Adams.

Polling data shows Americans are pro-life and few agree with Obama’s unlimited abortion position.

He just won’t attribute personhood to everyone. Some beings are subhuman and can be left to die gasping for air in a closet for hours.

Inviting the “Lyin’ King” to a Prayer Breakfast is sort of like inviting Eva Braun to a Hadassah meeting./s

Obama can’t even read the Declaration of Independence without dropping words like ‘(endowed) by their Creator’.

“we believe in the inherent dignity of every person”

I took a medical ethics course almost 25 years ago at a university, and “personhood” was the key justification for killing babies. Some papers by these ivory tower “geniuses” used the personhood argument to justify logically the killing of unborn and born even after two years of age.

The irony is that some of these same people will throw a fit if turtle eggs are unprotected.
