TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE Force reduction measures and degradation of military benefits could have an effect on local service members under the Pentagons proposed budget cuts.
The Pentagon officially unveiled its 2015 budget proposal Tuesday as part of the White Houses total budget request. The first post-Afghanistan war budget calls for a drawdown of Army and Air Force personnel, but invests additional funding in training, new weapons systems and special operations.
The budget still requires approval of Congress, where a heated battle is expected.
Although the budget calls for the Army to reduce its ranks by 40,000 to 50,000 over last year, the Air Force will take a more modest hit at 20,400, or about 4 percent of its airmen.

0bama’s budget proposal includes huge military cuts and a 1% raise for federal workers. The asshat in chief is just doing anything he thinks can piss us off. Boehner will show him by forcing the budget through the house approved. You must admire Johnny B’s strategy of giving 0bama everything he wants so that it is not on the table. With a strategy like that the economy should be totally destroyed by 2016.
The Republicans are worse with regards to the military and especially the Veterans. I hope Paul Ryan loses his seat. He is pure scum.

Unfortunately, the product the process produced this time has more to do with politics than policy and is of little value to decision makers. For that reason, I will require the department to rewrite and resubmit a compliant report, House Armed Services Chairman Buck McKeon (R-Calif.) said in a scathing statement after receiving the review Tuesday.
