We have a local butcher that does it all from the beginning to end. I can even buy fresh cow’s knucklebones for the dogs to chew on, which they LOVE.
I noticed that our Kroger has on the labels of all ground meat, including the Angus, an ingredient list that includes “and natural flavors”. No one there knows what “natural flavors” means when I asked. Kroger claimed a couple of years ago that they stopped putting pink slime in their meat. I wonder if these “natural flavors” are the quiet return of pink slime.
Maybe Kroger’s new theme could be: “We shall add no slime before it’s time.”
