A bakery in Pennsylvania has come under scrutiny after the owner declined to make a wedding cake for a lesbian couple who were planning to renew their vows.

“It was hard to do,” Lorraine Fleming, the owner of The Cake Pros bakery in Schuylkill Haven, Pa., told WBRE-TV on Tuesday. “We have homosexuality in our family, and it was a hard decision to make, but in the end, when I die and I’m one on one with God I have to stand true to him.” …

It’s not the cake, it’s what they might do with it afterwards. /S

From the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania:
Article 1, Section 3. — Religious Freedom

All men have a natural and indefeasible right to worship Almighty God according to the dictates of their own consciences; no man can of right be compelled to attend, erect or support any place of worship or to maintain any ministry against his consent; no human authority can, in any case whatever, control or interfere with the rights of conscience, and no preference shall ever be given by law to any religious establishments or modes of worship.
Let me reiterate an important section there: no human authority can, in any case whatever, control or interfere with the rights of conscience.

Take it to state-level court.

Either we OWN our own property, and may do with it as we wish, or the GOVT OWNS IT and demands we do as they say!

I am rather certain someone did not go into a bakery and ask for a simple wedding cake. What would trigger all of this? They either anounced what type of wedding it was, asked for something supportive of homosexuality to be put on the cake, or asked for something perverse.

Regardless, what is it called when one is forced to produce something against their will, i.e. a cake? Furthermore, who would want to consume any food product made under duress?

I’ve heard that some people order obscene cakes and candies for parties.

Is a baker allowed to decline to bake penis shaped cupcakes? Just asking. What about other cakes and candies shaped like other body parts??

This whole area of wedding cakes for homosexual weddings sounds to me like a niche market, in which someone could make some money from. Given that, why the need to go uhto someone who doesn’t service homosexual weddings, act outraged, then file a lawsuit over a cake???

The bakers should just adopt a don’t ask don’t tel policy. Wedding cakes don’t have names written on them .

Gay Patriot is also reporting on a bridal shop refusing to sell gowns to lesbian couples. They connected the story to Facebook and the gaystapo is out in force.

the ‘customers’ targeted her bakery knowing her response. they are hoping to force the state to push her out of business... which will help the homo bakeries in the area, just like in CO

it has always amazed me that someone would pay hundreds of dollars on a cake that the baker did not want to make.....would you eat it, I wouldn’t come anywhere near it....one could almost guarantee that some of the ingredients weren’t in the original recipe.

And open the baker up to lawsuits or worse. I used to be a caterer and we would never have sabotaged our products no matter how horrid working with a client was. Our name was on it and we stood behind it.

Why not put feces in the cake....It’s not as if they don’t enjoy playing in it.
