I wonder how long it will take this formerly homeless women to be back out on the street once again homeless. $1.5 million is a significant windfall, but I don't see her staying off the streets for more than a few years.

"they wanted to make sure the woman could have financial stability for the rest of her life and wanted to make sure that Andrew would not be an officer any longer

The second part of that makes sense, but how is showering a trainload of tax-payer money on the victim justice? It goes a bit beyond compensation.

If the Police hit you and the natural reaction is to defend yourself by putting your hands
in front, that's considered resisting and now cause for the Police to give you a beat-down.

That officer deserves Prison because as an enforcement officer he knows better,
and he should be held to a higher standard, Double the sentence!

Once again the taxpayers are shelling out money because of a person that should probably never have been given a badge.

To where should I report to receive my $1.5 million beating? My wife would certainly spare me for a couple of weeks healing time to get in on that.

If it were $1.5 trillion, our nation would be spared further damage from California politics and social aberrations. California would go the way of Argentina.

Suppose it happened to a beloved female relative of yours (daughter/mother/niece etc.) Would you say the same to her?

$1.5 million is a significant windfall,

Let's see, probably lawyers collect 'contingency ' fee - about 60%

IRS collects at least 35% - leaves about $225,000.

state taxes ? Medical? $

There's been many case where, after everyone else takes the gravy, there wasn't enough to settle the whole IRS bill - and they ended up bankrupt - but no matter what, you have to pay IRS.

Those who rake in the dough are everyone BUT the victim....

Interesting. A knock-out blow to a woman wasn't even worth viewing on video by NFL commissioner Goodell.

Sorry, not trying to hijack the thread.

The cop, who has been on paid leave, will now retire early.

Not long considering her lawyer took 75% of it.

If she really was homeless by choice or by compulsion, I don’t see her ending that lifestyle. Some would prefer living on the street to living up to duties and responsibilities.
Wonder what happened to that skinny, hispanic homeless guy with the deep announcer’s voice? He was the ‘cats’ meow’ about five years back. Everybody’d new best friend.

That’s why the trial lawyers have millions to give to the Democrat Party. It’s a kickback scheme paid for with taxpayer money.
