I have gone in, cant find a register and it takes 15 minutes waiting in line to make a single purchase, and that is before you get to the register which takes another few minutes to pay. The item is scanned, the security tag is removed, the cashier asks if you want a J.C. Penny credit card, then you pay. Something went wrong somewhere down the line. It was a lot easier and faster long ago. I will not miss them. Sorry, J. C. and company, you screwed up good thing you once did so well.

The last time I went in I had my purchase ready, the girl at the counter insisted on using a handheld device to scan my card and when it wouldn’t work I told her to use the register please, but someone else had taken it. I told her to enjoy restocking my items and to enjoy the fact that I would never buy from Penney’s again.

I’m surprised they didn’t ask you for your zip code!

At one time every department had a checkout station. Now there are maybe 2 on a whole floor. And the lines for each back up out the door. Sears did the same thing. You spend hours wandering around a store looking for someone to ring up your purchase.
