At one time every department had a checkout station. Now there are maybe 2 on a whole floor. And the lines for each back up out the door. Sears did the same thing. You spend hours wandering around a store looking for someone to ring up your purchase.
Yes, absolutely correct. Why they changed is a matter of management. They have not focused on service, have not focused on anything except profit at the expense of service, and it has never worked.
