I saw an old film where a reporter asked an 8 year old Peyton who his favorite QB was. He immediately answered “Roger Staubach”.
Funny because his Father was starting QB with the New Orleans Saints. If Archie had played for even a halfway decent team he would have set a bunch of records I think.

Manning and the broncos have not looked sharp for the last 4 games or so. The speculation is there is something physically wrong with Manning, but of course the Denver coaching staff has denied this at every turn.
I'm not a Broncos or a Colts fan but I do respect him for his work ethic. He'll want to play but that's the coach's call, not his.
He wasn't sharp at all today, I suspect he was in a lot of pain. When I saw him just standing there while the ball he had just fumbled bobbled around at his feet, I thought something was wrong. As a coach I would have pulled him right then.
Bottom line, I doubt he'll WANT TO retire, but I think he'll have to.
I hope so, NFL and their fans do not need the whole sports media(or the media in general) going 24/7 if Peyton returns next season and gets hurt really bad....Peyton Manning should quit now and save himself from that possibility.
Plus, may I add that I am tired of him being as I am a Jags fan(long suffering one)...:>)
Yep..Archie played for New Orleans when they were the “Aints”, lol. Although he threw some pretty wobbly passes, like you said, had he had a decent team...who knows?
But, he did a very good job of raising his boys.

A lot of Manning’s hand-offs looked telegraphed to me. None were fluid, all looked strained.

Cooper Manning actually signed with Ole Miss and had career ending surgery when thumb muscle pad atrophy led to his stenosis diagnosis... He is a successful businessman these days. Peyton said he would have signed with Ole Miss instead of Tennessee if Cooper had been playing. Alas we had a poor team going on probation when Peyton’s time came and no one could blame him. Gratefully Eli did sign with us

I think so too. I’m a Colts fan and we still love Manning here in Indiana, but time and injuries are catching up with him.
From PFT...looks like Peyton is beginning to realize his arm strength is sorely lacking for NFL:
Manning publicly has said that he certainly plans to play, but Jim Nantz of CBS said during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s broadcast that Manning explained during their pregame production meeting that it’s no longer a sure thing.
“He actually told us that ‘I’m gonna wait and see, I can’t really in my heart tell you anything for sure right now,” Nantz said. “My intention is to play, but things have changed since I last said that.’”
One major change looming over the franchise is the potential departure of offensive coordinator Adam Gase, who has been interviewed for multiple head-coaching positions elsewhere. Then there’s the possibility that coach John Fox won’t be back — along with the possibility that Peyton wants to see changes made.
Perhaps Peyton wants Gase to become the head coach of the Broncos.
Apart from whether Peyton chooses to play is the question of whether the Broncos believe based on his current performance and production that he’s worth $19 million in salary for 2015. It would be considerably cheaper to hand the reins to Brock Osweiler, and the gap between Manning and Osweiler may not be as big as it was in September.
He really shows his “Football” age when playing in the cold. Hard to get around that come Playoff time.
If one Super Bowl and two playoff appearances in consecutive years is karma then I wish someone would lay some of that karma on my Kansas City Chiefs.
Fortunately the glow of the Royals helped make it through another Chief’s season. They actually did better than I thought they would. I figured 7-9 or 8-8 at the beginning of the year and they wound up 9-7. And should have been 11-5.
