[I begin] with the story of a series of Socialist scholars conferences that Barack Obama attended when he lived in New York City between the years 1983 and 1985.

And when I finally reconstructed what had gone on at these Socialist conferences that Barack Obama attended, I truly was amazed because what I saw was a kind of map of Barack Obama’s entire subsequent political career. It was at this Socialist conferences in New York in the mid-’80s that Barack Obama encountered the groups, the strategies, and the mentors who would guide him throughout his entire political career. [T]hese Socialist conferences touted community organizing as the key to the future for American Socialism.

So the idea is this – you create a kind of quasi-Populist anti-business movement of the left stirred up by these community organizations. Some of them are led by African Americans and some of those community organizing leaders, especially African Americans, emerge and become politicians themselves and they lead this large coalition, which is energized by these community groups on behalf of an economic, anti-business Populist movement, which in fact is controlled by Socialists from behind.

[L]et’s move to Chicago.... And a lot of what I say in the book covers a remarkable community organizer training institute in Chicago that very few people have heard of. It’s called the Midwest Academy. The Midwest Academy – remember that name. [T]he moment everyone knows what the Midwest Academy is, is the moment that Barack Obama is in some serious trouble.

In many ways, the theories of community organizing and Socialism that were touted in those conferences in New York were really talking about these organizers in Chicago from the Midwest Academy. It was a direct connection.

Some items from The Midwest Academy

The Midwest Academy is a national training institute committed to advancing the struggle for social, economic, and racial justice. From local neighborhood groups to statewide and national organizations, Midwest Academy has trained over twenty-five thousand grassroots activists from hundreds of organizations and coalitions. Midwest Academy teaches an organizing philosophy, methods and skills that enable ordinary people to actively participate in the democratic process. http://www.midwestacademy.com/about/mission-history/

Robert Creamer has been a political organizer and strategist for over four decades. During that time he has worked with many of the country’s most significant issue campaigns. He was one of the major architects and organizers of the successful 2005 campaign to defeat the privatization of Social Security. He has been a consultant to the campaigns to end the war in Iraq, pass universal health care, hold Wall Street accountable, pass progressive budget priorities, and enact comprehensive immigration reform. He works with Americans United for Change where he helped coordinate the campaign to pass President Obama’s landmark jobs and economic recovery legislation.

During the 2008 Presidential Election he worked for the Democratic National Committee as National Coordinator of field based rapid response to Republican candidates McCain and Palin. During his career, he has worked on hundreds of electoral campaigns at the local, state and national level. Creamer began his organizing career in 1970 working with Chicago’s Citizen Action Program (CAP) which had been organized by Saul Alinsky’s Industrial Areas Foundation. CAP successfully campaigned to reduce the sulfur dioxide in Chicago’s air by almost two thirds.

In 1974 Creamer founded the Illinois Public Action Council – later known as Illinois Citizen Action – which became the state’s largest consumer advocacy organization and progressive political coalition. He directed the organization for 23 years. He has been a full time political consultant since 1997 when he co-founded the Strategic Consulting Group. http://www.midwestacademy.com/about/mission-history/

Let me talk quickly about UNO of Chicago. Nobody knows about this group, and yet it was absolutely central to Barack Obama’s experience of community organizing.

What was UNO of Chicago? It was a predominantly Hispanic organization and it favored tactics that were very much like ACORN – super confrontational tactics. UNO of Chicago–by the way, there were many illegal immigrants in UNO of Chicago, and yet they were constantly running these confrontational tactics demanding government money be spent.

So one of the things they got was a school to be made. And they didn’t just want the school. They wanted it to be called Ninos Heroes I think Heroes might be the original pronunciation. Ninos Heroes, which means “heroic children.” It’s the name for these children who stood up to the United States during the Mexican War. It’s considered a mark of anti-United States Mexican patriotism. So they insisted on calling the school Ninos Heroes, and like I said, the patriotic Mexicans who were living in Chicago inundated the school board demanding that this outrage not take place. And yet, the school board capitulated because certain Hispanic members of the school board were targeted by UNO of Chicago. They came to their house, they scared them to death, they scared their children, and they gave up.

See? So now you know where he acquired his deep love for America.

The only thing missing from the article is where he was baptized and where he got his deep faith in Christ.

Since way back in 07 Stanley Kurtz has been doing expose after expose about our fearless leader” (please note lower case) .

It began when Obama was a Illinois State Senator and a Professor William Ayers, Kurtz exposed the questionable handling of The Annenberg Foundation funds. When the two were selected to administer its millions to Illinois public education and disbursed them to every radical cause known then.

Kurtz appeared on a Chicago’s WGN’s am 720 late evening Milt Rosenberg talk radio show. The host was not only bombarded by callers who attempted to take over the format, but, the station picketed, and both the station owners and their host were threatened. As I then put it in my website as well as here in FR’s “a harbinger of things to come”.

Some generic tips on how to run a meeting along with advice on how "community organizer" pressure campaigns can target and manipulate politicians: excerpts from chapter 8 "Holding Accountability Sessions" of “Organizing for Social Change” by the Midwest Academy (all emphasis added)
http://web.archive.org/web/20040602225945/http://www.midwestacademy.com/Account/Account1.html

  2. Applying The Strategy Chart
  3. Planning
  4. Sample Agenda
  5. Key Roles
  6. Logistics and Spirit
  7. Turnout, Publicity, and Transportation/ Facilities
  8. Press Plan
  9. Tone of the Meeting
  10. Checklist for Holding an Accountability Session

1. Introduction

An accountability session is a large community meeting at which an elected official, or sometimes a high-level public administrator (the "decision-maker" or "target"), is held accountable to the community. At the meeting, very specific demands are made about such things as legislation, funding, code enforcement, or community services, and your organization(s) expects a positive response on the spot.

An accountability session is a high power tactic. [It requires] a sophisticated leadership that can run the meeting and put heat on the target. Like other tactics, it is placed in the last column of the strategy chart.

The words Accountability Session are organizing language and would not generally be used in a letter. Instead say something like, "We invite you to attend a community meeting in order to tell us what you plan to do about...

2. Using The Strategy Chart to Plan The Session

Strategy development is the core of the Midwest Academy program. We teach it through the use of the strategy chart which relates the five basic elements of strategy.

  1. Goals, the long term intermediate and short term issues that you want to win.

  2. Organizational Considerations, what resources your organization brings to the campaign, and what specific forms of organizational growth you hope to achieve during the campaign.

  3. Constituency, the answer to the question, who cares about this issue? How are people already organized? How can we cut the issue to get the broadest support?

  4. Decision Maker, the person or persons who can give you what you want. (also know as the Target of the campaign.) The decision maker is always a person, never as institution.

  5. Tactics, what the people in the constituency column do to the Decision Maker in order to force the Decision Maker to give you your Goals.

Goals - Demands

Goals become Demands when planning the session.

Because accountability sessions need to end with a win, there must be at least one demand that you are quite sure you will get. You don’t have to call attention to the fact that this is the bottom line. You can even try to hide it among more ambitious proposals, but it has to be there.

Tactics

Tactics are all the things that you will do during the accountability session to show your strength, weaken your target and build the morale of your members. Tactics include the signs you use to decorate the hall, songs, bringing in petitions, reading letters of support, testimony from the floor, etc. As with actions, there are tactics that primarily put pressure on the target, tactics that are essentially for the moral of your own group, and tactics that are for the benefit of the media. For each tactic you use, be aware of who it is aimed at and what its purpose is.

The stance that you take toward the target is also a tactic. Are you going to be friendly, neutral or angry? High key or low? Will the target be given a comfortable chair behind a table, or just a wooden folding chair? It is OK if members show more anger when speaking than the- chair does. ("Look, these are your constituents - they are really mad".) Remember though, the successful use of the accountability session is based on the assumption that the target is reacting rationally. If you make the target so angry that you get an emotional response instead of a calculated response, you will probably lose.

Any event with an elected official comes down to the power of votes. The target is sizing you up to see your numbers and whether you and your issue can gain support in the larger community. You, in turn, are putting on a bit of a demonstration of the negative campaign you will run in the community if you don't get what you want.

Sample Agenda

An accountability session is a tightly controlled meeting, with a clear purpose and clear demands that are formally conveyed to the target.

Community residents or coalition members speak about why they want the target to respond in a certain fashion. The presentations are pre-arranged, but they can be interspersed with a few spontaneous remarks from the floor. (ed. see also the Diamond Technique discussed in a training manual distributed by the Communist Party http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2657811/posts)

Key Roles

The Official Target Greeter. One person should be assigned to greet the decision-maker and keep her occupied until the meeting begins. This prevents her working the crowd, shaking hands, and acting nice. Ideally, the greeter should have met the target before.

Logistics and Spirit

Generally, you want the Chair (standing at a podium) and the target (seated) in the front of the room with the target on the Chair’s left. The panel members should be seated at a table, off to the side somewhat, and on the Chair’s right. There should be an easy way for the organizer to move from the Chair to other parts of the room.

Scoreboard. Often a huge scoreboard is placed next to the target. The demands are listed on it and next to each one are spaces to check "Yes," "No," and "Waffle." This device helps pin down the target.

If the chairs are moveable or the room can be partitioned, be sure that you have fewer chairs than needed rather than many empty chairs

Underlined items contain additional info

An inviolable core principle undergirding all of MA's tactics is that in every case, activists must “target” a “decision maker”; i.e., a “person or persons” who can be “forced” to “give you what you want.” Observing a central tenet of Saul Alinsky's community-organizing doctrines, MA emphasizes: “The decision maker is always a person, never as institution.” (Alinsky taught that the people's discontent must be directed, without exception, at an identifiable face -- “a personification, not something general and abstract like a corporation or City Hall.”) http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/groupProfile.asp?grpid=6725

And if you read Stanley's book, I mean, Jan Schakowsky, they're all part of this Midwest Academy out there and they know who they are and they know each other and they understand the dangers, the third rail of foreign policy and things like that.

And Schakowski is the wife of Bob Creamer, the guy who was seeding trump rallies with agents provocateur.
