A Colorado woman was sentenced Friday to 38 years in prison for beating a man to death with a baseball bat because she wrongly suspected him of molesting a child, The Denver Post reported.

Forsythia Owen, 32, of Englewood, was convicted of second-degree murder, first-degree assault and tampering with evidence in the September 2013 death of Denzel Rainey, 42.

Owen told authorities she repeatedly struck Rainey with a Louisville Slugger bat as he was sleeping in an alley because her 4-year-old daughter claimed he had touched and sexually abused her.

Rainey was found with a skull fracture, cuts to his head, a broken left arm, six broken ribs, a laceration to the liver and a left testicle hemorrhage, CBS Denver reported. He died hours later at a hospital.

If you are going to go Louisville Slugger on someone, you had better be sure you have the right guy.

Clearly she had a terrible lawyer. He was a man isn't that all you need to proof rape and child molestation these days?

Yep, and if she had a gun and shot him the gun would get 100% of the attention from liberals in the press. This proves if someone is going to kill someone, they don’t need a gun.

“Forsythia”

But she doesn’t look like a Forsythia.

I’m curious how they can state categorically that he did NOT commit the molestation. It would certainly be reasonable to say that there was no evidence or insufficient evidence. But how can they certain it didn’t happen?

Except possibly if the guy was in CA when it supposedly happened.

BTW, a 4 year old who makes claims of sexual abuse has probably been abused by somebody, or she wouldn’t know the concept.

Noticed this further down the story:

“she stabbed a boyfriend in 2002”

I think calling her crazy is being charitable, I wonder why she didn’t call the police? Surely not because of her color.

No, you do need a little bit more than that.

From reading the articles about this one it seems the four year old didn’t understand what she was supposed to have claimed happened. Maybe if she was going to whack someone while she was high mommy should have waited until her kid was old enough to be coached into confirming her story. Four year olds can’t keep a lie remembered well enough to repeat it - even when they understand what they are supposed to say.

So we have:
1. A kid with no apparent damage, who doesn’t remember anything.
2. A mom with a drug rap sheet and mental health issues.
3. No African American woman accusing a privileged white male.

Not a recipe to pull off murder.

Reminds me an Alfred Hitchcock movie. A woman who is raped later sees her rapist and screams to her husband “there he is!” So he goes and kills him. Next scene they are driving away in a car and then the woman again screams “there he is!” For every man she sees.

One question I can’t seem to find the answer for is did the dead guy have any prior convictions for anything? It is quite unusual for the homeless to have zero anything on their rap sheet. Typically there are trespassing, drug and alcohol, mostly minor stuff, unless they have more serious convictions.

While they made it a point that he didn’t have any recent sex offenses, it was written in such a roundabout way as to come across that they were concealing something.
